Hello, I'm new to the forums. NBR was a lot of help when I was buying my new computer. I wonder if anyone can give me backup advice. I hope this is the right forum for external hard drive questions.

I want to be able to backup my new 160GB laptop as well as my 120GB iPod, and take advantage of the esata port on my e6400. I think an enclosure plus 2.5" disk should do the trick, but there seem to be endless minor variations on exactly the same enclosure on the web, and the ones that can fit larger than 250GB hard drives cost three times the price. Is there one that's especially good? And isn't strangely expensive?

I'm using this enclosure from play.com with my E6400. £13.99 including delivery and it comes with all the cables and a carrying pouch.

You will need to choose your own 2.5" SATA HDD to go in it. 320GB probably is best GB/£. Perhaps this one?

Namaiki: here are some links to very similar 2.5" enclosures with esata connections. They're all pretty hard to distinguish, imo.

I like both of those recommendations, sgogeta4 and John Ratsey. Looks like a good WD HDD, too. Thanks guys.

I ended up getting the StarTech InfoSafe enclosure and the WD 320GB HDD. Thank you for your help, guys.
