Are we likely to see 1TB 7200 RPM, 9.5 mm notebook drive in 2011?

Won't we see it very soon, didn't Hitachi announce 2.5" 500 GB single platter 7200 rpm drive?

Ya but actually its the only 500 gb platter hd ive seen announced.

Seagate has a 1.5 tb external but it turned out to be a 4 platter 15 mm hd inside there. also its super slow somehow.

We hope so, but Hitachi hasn't said a word about it (the 1 TB 9.5mm drive) yet. Maybe they want to see how the single platter 500 GB works out before jumping to the next step. Or maybe we'll see an announcement at CeBIT.

Unfortunately, the M8 listed in that last paragraph is "only" 5400 RPM, although it does at least fit in the 9.5 mm category. The OP was specifically asking for a 7200 RPM drive.
