I posted five years ago http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/1080p-travel-monitor.603212/ and now I have the solution!

Take a Sharp LL-201A monitor http://www.sharp-world.com/products/professional-monitors/products/ll-s201a/specifications.html and a K&M 19685 VESA adapter and a K&M 23150 Tabletop microphone stand. The end result is a 19.5" totally portable, carry on size, full HD, all sorts of inputs really neat travel monitor.

I changed the power adapter to a Rocketfish 40W universal netbook adapter (F-NBAC) to save a little weight (or perhaps the original was three pronged which is hard for international travel, could be both). If you look closely you can see the adapter tip in the power plug, it's an N4 tip. Any 20V 2A 5.5mm 2.5mm adapter will do, Lenovo IdeaPad S-10, MSI Wind U100 etc netbooks.
