    Which one is better for moderate gaming?
    128MB GeForce 8400M GS (on a Vostro 1500)
    OR
    256MB RADEON X1400 HyperMemory (on an Inspiron E1505)

    From the GPU guide, the 8400GS performs better, but this one only has 128MB compared to that of 256MB on X1400. Based solely on performance, which one is superior?

    I'm interested in playing games such as
    * Hitman: Blood Money
    * Splinter Cell: Double Agent
    * Company of Heroes

    I usually play games on moderate settings, with additional eye-candy turned off.

    Ha ha. A no contest job. Never be pulled in by the amount of memory unless the graphics chip is the same. The X1400 will be considerably weaker, I believe. One review that I read described the X1400 as "integrated graphics with dedicated memory"

    That 8400m GS scores nearly 2x as high as the x1400 on 3dmark 06.
