Hey guys, so I have a Dell XPS 15 9550, with HD 530 and gtx 960m with Optimus, as seen in my signature and may use it with a 10 bit per color monitor. I want to confirm that the gpu and all other aspects of the laptop would support 10 bit per color, preferably ly over hdmi 1.4 (the included port on the xps).

Edit: I'm not planning on using the 10 bit monitor for color critical work, I was more wondering in general use.

Shouldn't be an issue. If the output is directly through the 960m, if its through the iGPu then you might want to check intels specs.

It's not direct to 960M, it'll never be direct.

Geforce can output 10 bit, but nvidia intentionally gimps opengl output to adobe and other pro software to be 8 bit only.
Intel 530 - need to check with intel, have a post on their official forum and see if it will. As for the opengl accel caused by optimus, idk.

Most likely 8bit, since HP and DELL machines with DreamColor / PremierColor panels (10bit) are doing without AMD Power Express / Enduro or Optimus for this very reason. I'm saying most likely since newer systems support AMD Power Express / Enduro or Optimus, but they no longer have 10bit displays, only 6bit and 8bit, so there's that.
