I wondering if 2ghz is worth the $150 upgrade on the Sony FE.

I plan to play games often. Like WoW, HL2, BF2, and other upcomming games like Spore, BF2142, etc.

150 bucks to upgrade from T2400 to T2500? Sony sure charges as if they were the only manufacturers of laptops in the whole World. HP charges $75 for that upgrade.

How much preformance would i loose. Comparing to a P4, would the diff be equivalent to a 3ghz vs 3.2ghz. or 2.8ghz vs 3ghz?

    No.

I hate it that you have to have ten characters.

The minimum length for a post is ten characters.

    Not worth it as posted.

What they said, not worth it. With that much power your video card wouldn't be able to keep up (or bottleneck), thus giving very little or no performance boost (especially for such a small upgrade)

You can always configure your laptop with the slowest Core Duo processor, buy the faster one through newegg, and sell the slower one on eBay. I saved $200 by using this method one time.

Yeah but that would void any warranty that you have, and if you bought an extended one, it would be an even larger waste of money.
