    I recently bought a Lenovo Thinkpad T510. I have 1 stick of:
    2 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1067MHz SODIMM Memory.

I'm plannin' to add another 2GB of memory to my laptop from Newegg, and was wondering if I can add:
    2 GB DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600).

Would it cause any issues? I know the speed will stay at 1067, but in future when I add a 4 gb stick, I plan to add a 1333MHz stick. But, would it cause any problems?

It should be compatible with T510 because I had an option to upgrade it to:
    4 GB PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM 1333MHz SODIMM Memory

Any help or thoughts are more than welcome. Thanks

If you don't have an i5/i7 you can use the 1333mhz DDR3 but it will work at a downclocked rate of 1066, unless you have your system overclocked or something. It will basically match whatever the processor FSB speed is with the C2D's.

Thanks for your response. I've i5 processor. Why won't the 1333MHz stick won't work with i5? Curious, especially since Lenovo gives an option to upgrade it to 1333MHz stick when buying T510.

As long as u have DDR3 RAM which is 1066MHz or 1333MHz , u should have no problems... the 1333 one will downclock automatically to 1066 .... core i5 support max RAM speed of 1066MHz unlike core i7 which supports 1333Mhz...
