seems to restart more often as time goes by. i think it may be linked to power consumption.

so far i've done a complete factory reset, replaced the cmos battery, reset bios to default, unplugged the main battery so it runs strictly on power outlet.

any insight would be highly appreciated.

Define restart, just out of the blue? bluescreen?
What are you doing so that it restarts? playing games? idle?
What does your Windows Event viewer say?

Yes, the matter in which it "restarts" can change the troubleshooting moving forward.

Sorry for late response. Travelling in Indonesia where things are a bit different.. lol.

It restarts while i'm just doing random things like browsing. This morning it starts to do it much more often. I hope it's not shorting somewhere. It does seem to restart whenever i move the laptop but not consistently.

I tried cleaning everything and re-applied thermal paste in case it was heating problem. Now the temp is okay (45° resting and 95° max when gaming)

    Thanks for responding.

Based on the symptoms, I would recommend giving the internals of the machine a one over to make sure the RAM and Storage drives are properly seated. Although a shutdown while the machine moves is not a good sign :(

Yup, i've reseated the ram, ssd, and regular hd, and wifi.. still getting restarts.. of course the battery too.

next step is to remove the entire main board and clean under it but that looks kinda ugly down there. i'm leaning more towards a short somewhere..

    Thanks for responding.

Trying to troubleshoot while traveling in a remote underdeveloped Indonesian island is not easy. the local pc repair place cannot even order new battery, even if i wanted to pay $100 +.. I had them reapply thermal paste but probably not a good idea considering we did it right next to a dusty road on a hot humid tropical heat.. at least it's not getting more hot than before.. just to top it off, the last airport confiscated my screwdrivers. lol

any other ideas would be appreciated. i've even taken the time and embarassment of freezing my battery for 2 days to see if that made it better.

I have hear that the idea storing batteries in extreme hot or cold to increase preform is actually a myth and can cause adverse affects. You would always want them to be at normal room temperature ( Or a little cooler for hot Indonesian ;))
