    Initial impressions before I forget..

    As beautiful as I expected.
The lid opens easily with one hand.
I wish the screen was more rigid. Like the X5, it twists a little too easily for my liking.

It feels like the Alienware 17 r4 when I open the lid ( if you know what I mean) , but its not as rigid. Id rather another half pound of weight if that would make that a reality.

Keyboard is very quiet and I see why they call them brown switches.

The power plug does look like the Alienware type afterall. It sits in the slot in the back very deep and sturdy, this is something I'm pleased about.

Trackpad feels like glass and is very very good.

Thankfully it's in good shape. A little glow in the bottom right corner but not bad.

    Here's some initial numbers..

-75mv, 4.3ghz 6 cores, power limits raised right up. IMG_20180504_194625~6.jpg

From what I can tell the GPU has a TDP of 180watts.

If I lock the frequency at 1923mhz, for example, with a voltage of 925volts...I can see the power draw in PUBG around 170 watts.

As I watch it approach 180 watts ( which it does sometimes) then the frequency goes down to 1885mhz and lower etc.

Thats a pretty decent clock at that voltage. If you have gpuz you can see if its a power or voltage block, sounds like its probably power but I have seen some 1080 vbios actually block you in so you can't lock the high clock at the lower voltage so be aware of any updates along the way. If you get a chance to run the traditional firestrike benchmarks post them up. :)

I had a couple game crashes so I raised the voltage to 950mv. Seems better.

My firestrike score is low , 19024. Its my first time and i may have settings wrong.
Being experienced, what Nvidia settings or other settings should I do to maximize my score?

Score wise that is about what I expected with the CPU upgrade, the main helpful settings are turning off gsync completely from the Nvidia control panel and change the power profile to maximum performance. Temps look decent for a thin laptop with 6 cores and stock paste. Thanks for sharing.

I just got a score of 19892 in firestrike with just a regular +130 mhz in afterburner and no voltage curve.
I don't get it.. 209 max watts for gpu so it throttled quite abit but still had a higher score than with a voltage curve and less throttling?

Are you saying the voltage is unlocked and you was able to apply 130mv, NICE! Can you post up a screen shot of your results or on the web?

I'm not sure who reads this thread but I have a problem with the X9 battery.

It drains after shutdown. I'm a super windows user so I've checked all the sleep/hibernate/disable fast startup/change what closing lid power buttons do.
    Disabled RTS in bios.

Sometimes I'll notice the bottom is warm as well. Otherwise great battery life but man it's always draining when powered down.

It shipped with some new build of windows 10 so tonight I will install windows from my trusty windows cd and hopefully it's just a bug in the OEM operating system.
    I'll follow up my findings.

Nope, never saw that on my unit. How much power do you "lose" ?
I did a fresh install of Windows upon delivery though, so I never truly used the system in its OEM state.

    Ahh a fellow x9 comrade!

I'm going to install my usual copy of windows today and hopefully that fixes it.

Seems every night I lose either all of it (0%) or half to 3/4 power. Whether I hold the power button for 5 seconds till it turns off or do a proper shutdown. I listen and the fans are off. But lo and behold next morning the laptop bag is warm and battery's been drained.

Its windows 10 pro,. Some weird build maybe with a bug.

We need someone to start an official x9 thread ( not me )

    Are you in Canada?

    Damn right !
Well there's two of them now : the SLI (which I own) and the 1080. I don't see many users here though...

    And no, I'm from France.

Honestly I'm quite happy with it. Haven't had a SLI in a while but so far so good in most games. After a few tweaks in XTU and afterburner, everything is great. No battery draining during play, GPUs don't go past 70-72°C, and CPU is around 80°C average @4.1GHz / -100mV.
LM on CPU and kryonaut on both GPUs.

Currently the Aorus X9 DT and the X7 DT V8 are both available in stock at Newegg.ca.

My X9 DT v8 is in "Pre-Production" with HIDevolution as of today. I was expecting it to take longer since it was a pre-order, but looks like I should have it in a couple of weeks. I'll try to create an owners' lounge...

Cool! I have to say, that Dolby Atmos speaker system has really blown me away. I prefer to watch movies with the X9 on my lap rather than on the big tv. The sound is so enveloping.
