Correct me if I am wrong but the Windows Precision drivers should be built into the OS (Assuming Windows 10)

You can try this ! Enables precision trackpad with lot more gestures and overall better performance .
    1. Download the .exe http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds120858
    2. Running the downloaded .exe will extract it's contents to a folder ( Default: C:/DRIVERS)
    3. Go to Control Panel -> Device Manager -> Right click ELAN Touchpad under Mice.
    4. Click on Update Driver, then "Browse my computer" , then "Let me pick"
    5. Click on "Have Disk"
    6. Point it to the ETD.inf file , in the directory where you have previously extracted the files. (Default: C:/DRIVERS/WIN/UNAV)
    7. Install it and reboot, and boom you have a much better touchpad with ELAN precision driver and all Windows 10 advanced gestures.

Sorry mate but you are posting this on quite a few places and I followed your instructions. However ended up screwing up my touchpad.
Please can you confirm you have tested this with Gigabyte Aero 15 and you successfully replaced ELAN drivers with Precision drivers?

Tip: anyone wanting to try installing "Lenovo" drivers, good idea to keep a mouse handy because I installed it and touchpad stopped working. I had to reinstall ELAN drivers to get it back to usable state.

I've done this multiple times on my Aero 14 and 15, works fine on both.
Try re-installing the stock drivers from smart update, and re-try. Dave2D made a video on it as well, in case you want to follow with that.

I'm pretty sure I saw a guy on reddit who has an Aero 15 and did this mod.

It is normal that it stopped, what you have to do afterwards is go to your device manager once again, there you will see a driver with a yellow '!'.
Do the same thing you did with the ELAN driver, but now choose the miniptp file.

Hope this works for you, indeed keep a mouse close!

    Have a nice day!

Update - tried again following MaanKaas advice and it is now fully working.
Thanks people! Precision touchpad is wayy better than ELAN. Not sure why they even both to put ELAN over the free Windows versions.

Glad this solution worked! It's a mystery to me too, why they don't just use Precision drivers.

They technically can update their drivers to use precision drivers, but some manufacturers don't really do that.

Haha, probably because of the hardware and agreements with EMC they will never.

Greetings all, I just had a couple questions about this mod.
First it does appear to be working now, but my idle battery consumption has gone from 10k-13kmw up to 35k mw. Task manager shows System Interrupts as the process consuming 21% which means there is a hardware issue?
2nd, is there any option under windows precision to disable enhanced pointer precision?

The only reason I switched to windows precision was the annoying "blocked off" area where the left mouse click would be. Sometimes you could use the entire track pad, other times the cursor would stop moving as soon as it hit the mouse button "zone" and start moving as soon as you are outside of it.
But if it is going to cause the problems, I may have to switch back
