Hi there, this is my first post in the forum, so sorry if I am breaking any rule or conduct.
I recently purchased an aero 15 oled 3070, that in Spain where I live has no other identificator than that ( I think that corresponds to the XD version there in the states)
When I installed the control center I got a warning on my bios saying that there were a bios update, version fb07/f004 and I inmmedetly installed the update.
This was done in the first boot, so I don´t know if the behavior that I will describe now was happening too on the old bios version.

    Problem:
once I shut down my laptop, it will boot ok, if I do it after a few minutes (around 20 or so)
But If I wait for more than 30 minutes or so:
    - first time i press the on button, the keyboard will lit for around 2 seconds, fans will spin briefly, and will shutdown by itself inmediately
    - second time I press the on button, after the first try, the keyborad will lit, fans will spinm, and a black screen will remain for minutes without nothing happening (no gigabyte logo, nor any other message, just the black screen). If I press the on button for a few secons, it will shut down.
    - third time after the forced shutdown, the computer boots with no problems whatsoever.

I need to repeat this routine everytime my computer has been off for more than 30 minutes.

    things I tried:

    - searched in the boot order on the bios that is regulated by windows boot, nothing weird there.
    - checked in the bios if the there is anything related with boot orders or battery protections modes or something remotely related with booting, no luck so far.

    Ideas...

Maybe resintaling the old bios will help? (don´re remember the version)
Maybe reinstalling the new one will help?

Problem is that I cant find the bios downloads for my laptop in the support page, there are no bios downloads for aero 15 oled xd (the version I think is equivalente to my model here in spain) nor I have any clue where to find them

Opened a ticket asking support, but honestly, is sucks, opened it the 2nd of December, and today (8th) still appears as "new" with no one answering or taking ownership of it...

any clue on how to solve this, or were to find the bios files will be more than welcome. Searching on the forums and the rest of intertnet, ended in two people having the same issue but with no solutions from the crowd or gigabyte support....

    Please help!!!!!!

What is your CMOS battery voltage reading? If you can't test it just swap it with a spare and try booting again after a normal shutdown and a 30 minute wait.

It sounds to me like the CMOS reset happens once the main laptop battery power has drained, where normally a working CMOS battery retains some power to keep settings; yours seems dead.

that makes sense, I I thought about it.. but my laptop is always connected to the main power source, and main battery is totally charged. Doesn´t make any sense, even if the cmos battery is gone, while connected to the main power and with a fully charged main battery, it should not have problem keeping settings. Laptop is brand new, around 15 days old. Thanks for the hint, won´t open it to check the battery, it will void warranty :-(

Hello. Please try turn off Windows fast startup. It is in power option (windows control panel).
Shutdown via the start menu may not actually be shutdown.
There is the same problem when you wake up from sleep mode or another?

thanks! tried... didn´t work :(. Sleep mode works ok, but turning off windows fast startup didn´t change anything: first boot try-->auto switch off in 2 secons... second try---> nothing but a black screen and lit keyboard---> third try after forced shutdown, all works ok.

    Thank you for your test.
I found a thread reddit called: Aero 15x Bios Black Screen Update
The solution was that the boy let the main battery completely discharge.

If you do not want to disconnect the battery (main + cmos CR) for warranty reasons.

trying now after a full battery discharge overnight. will shutodown and will try again in one hour. The thing that drives me crazy is that this weird behavior only happens after at least 20 minutes of the computer being switched off. If I switch it on after a few minutes, it works perfectly.. if I try after half an hour, the problem will happen. Fast boot windows option is switched off .. and giggabyte support is still quiet after 9 days.. great customer service.

Best and thanks, will post my findings....

    Hi
I looked on support webside of your laptop model. I did not find any files for bios. Maybe.. Use CPU-Z to find out type of your mainboard. After then search bios file on gigabite or another website.
The gigabyte doesn't seem to be very good at this.
I'm sorry I can't help more right now.
