    Hi all,

I am planning to buy the Gigabyte Aero 14 V8 (i7-8750h) during the next couple of weeks.
This laptop will be mainly used for Photoshop CC 2018, Premiere Pro CC2018, to watch (recorded) 1080p 10bit and 4k 10bit HEVC videos "on the go" and some basic gaming.

As most of my time I will be using it for creative purposes, the main reason I am looking into this product is it's amazing calibrated QHD screen and its specs (6 cores, 16GB DDR and the GTX1050ti -shame they replaced the GTX1060 from last year).

So far, there seem to be one review on Notebookcheck and, apart from a louder fan, the laptop seems to score really well.

However, as I learned that 1 review doesn't tell much , I was wondering if any one who already bought this laptop could share his/her experience? :)

    Many thanks in advance!

You will be able to buy it in Spain. In the end I didn't buy it however due to a lot of people mentioning that watching 1080p content on a 1440p screen makes everything look blurry and washed out. :(

Not sure if there's anyone would take my experience as fair one......but I did use it for work so here's the thought after using AERO 14 for 4 months:

    1. The panel on it is the best one we have right now, 1440p is just enough
    2. CPU performance is awesome, dramatically reduce video rendering time
    3. I am not the fan of keyboard on AERO 14
    4. At first I thought macro key is garbage, but after use it for password input I am in love of it
    5. Dual M.2 slot really helps for video processing + storage (I use Premiere Pro)

The truth is AERO 14 is the one of the few 14" performance laptop you could get right now

Thanks! What about playing 1080p content on the AERO 14's 1440p screen. Won't it be blurry due to the scaling issue?
In addition, are there issues with optimus like many other laptops are experiencing? (Lags and stutters).
Returned my other laptop due to severe stuttering whenever I connected a screen over HDMI. :(
And when can we expect a GTX11xx or GTX20xx model (next week we will know for sure what the exact name will be)?

    1. scaling down to 1080p do occur some blurry but it's acceptable for me
    2. it's true that there'll be some problem under MSHybrid structure but it should be fine on external screen via HDMI cuz it's directly outputted from GPU
    3. All I can say at this moment is stay tuned with us.......

    Hi all

I managed to track down this laptop and have bought it. Waiting for it to be delivered . Any updates on the experience of this machine. Or tips to get the best out of it?

    Thanks Paul

    1. If you wanna re-install the OS, do remember to install the Smart Update & Smart Manager to get your calibrated .icc profile back
    2. even though it's the 1050 Ti model but I guess somebody will suggest you to re-paste the thermal grease

Thanks , I read that some are undervolting to get better thermals but from what I have read it's pretty cool anyway. I won't be gaming 24/7 on this. Just Netflix, web browsing and some minor gaming once in a while. The big sell for me was the screen and the huge battery. My two main criteria.

    I understand.

At this point, does Gigabyte / Aorus have any plans to refresh the Aorus X3?

Or, alternatively, to make an Aero 14 with thin bezels?

We're now planning on the new AERO 14 but it's still in early stage of development

I bought the Aero 14 v8 couple days ago.

In general I would say this is a really good laptop.
+ Good display, could be brighter, but excellent resolution and color.
    + I love the keyboard.
+ Is absolutely quite with browser and windows. (need to set quite fan profile)
+ small and lightweight, great chassis quality
    - Loud and very hot (quickly 91 degrees) within 1 minute video rendering.
    - only single channel ram used. I know it might be easier to upgrade to 32 GB with just another 16GB, but it is a bottle neck to just have one ram installed.
    - Battery Life is not as good as I hoped. Better than other gaming laptops yes, but when not using the GPU other regular business laptops are better.

There are some more annoyances I want to mention and the Gigabyte support is not really helpful.
    - The "Smart Manager" looses its ability to set performance and fan control and ability to show fan speed and network speed. Only a reinstallation from the smart manager helps. Both software versions are affected.
    - I added a second m2 ssd but it does not get recognized (I am still checking with another ssd and an external drive)
    - There was a Bios update today or yesterday but they don't show the old one on the website anymore and there is no changelog whatsoever for any of the downloads
