Would You Buy an 'Open Box' Laptop?

I saw a laptop being sold online with an Nvidia 980m that I want to buy from newegg. Its being sold as 'open box'. Is this a good idea? Would you buy it?

 

The majority of open box items are products which people bought and then returned because they decided that the product wasn't what they wanted. They can't be resold as new. I've saved a useful amount of money over the years by buying open box items. A few open box items might be missing something (this should be listed in the description) and it's possible that something is defective (which prompted the return but this should have gone back to the manufacturer to fix).

Check the warranty and the return arrangements should you find the item isn't as described but it's very probable that you will be happy with what you get and the price paid.

I have purchased laptops from Newegg as open box. My current one is the Aorus X7 Pro. It was discounted about 30% off retail. What I received was a laptop that looked like it had never been touched. Being somewhat cautious about big dollar purchases I am a member of Newegg Premier. This allows for no questions asked refunds and no restocking fees. Totally worth the peace of mind if you are about to put $2k into an open box purchase. Keep your eyes open for the highly discounted deals. Sometimes those MSI Titans go for a large discount.

Open Box merchandise are products that have been purchased and delivered to other customers, and then returned to Newegg. Open Box products are sold considerably under cost. Newegg tests Open Box products for basic functionality only. Due to the varying quality of products returned to Newegg, Newegg makes every attempt to supply the original accessories for Open Box products. However, regardless of what the product description says, Newegg only guarantees that you will receive the product itself, accessories may or may not be included. Bear in mind that your open box product may not contain cables, adaptors, manuals, CDs, drivers, fans, etc. Additionally, the product may exhibit cosmetic imperfections as a result of its having been previously opened. There's no issues with open box, just like others have said as long as you make sure it's under warranty and things it should be fine.
