    Hi guys,

    Long time lurker here, Have been waiting for the Aero 15 and it's been available on a few sites for pre-order. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on what site to purchase off? I'm looking at getting an extra stick of ram and a clean install of Windows Professional.

    Also would help to know what's the fastest as I leave for a 2 week holiday mid of may so would love to have the laptop before then.

    According to B&H Photo's listings, the new 8th gen models aren't in until April 16th, that's right on the edge of when you want it, and that's too little time to vet / verify the unit you get shipped is working correctly, and handle a return / replacement round trip shipping, and have time to set it up ready for your trip.

    New Item - Coming Soon
    Expected availability: Mon Apr 16

    These are other places listing the Aorus models, for Pre-order:

    I don't see dates on XoticPC:

    Newegg is saying April 17th...

    I bought my laptop from GenTechPc, and thinking to buy the new Aorus x7 DT from them. They do provide 30 days no dead pixel warranty and brand new thermal compound for free. Their customer support was decent as well.

    @hmscott

    Surely a month between April 16th and May 17th would be longer than enough for a reseller to modify it and ship it however correct?

    I would hope you would get it, but then again, shipping dates slip, stock that arrives sells out in order of pre-order, and I would make sure you have a couple of deals going with different vendors to make sure at least one of them one comes through in time.

    Timing brand new release laptop delivery before a trip is often fraught with stress. You need to convert everything over to it from your old laptop. Test the new laptop for stability to make sure you want to keep it, otherwise you have to deal with a problematic return / exchange quickly before leaving, on top of everything else.

    After going through it myself I no longer put that kind of additional stress on myself. Usually I have much more pressing things to consider before and during my trip, and adding more unnecessary tasks isn't worth it.

    I'd rather enjoy my trip and then enjoy my new laptop experience stress free when I get home, rather than rush to run them together at the same time. :)

    I would go for HIDevolution, opting for the config you want and a repaste of your choice.

    Wow, and a move too :)

    Unless you have a pressing need for the new laptop, I'd work out the move first too.

    Give yourself some time to get settled in, and by then the other shoe(s) will drop on reviews and benchmarks, who knows, maybe you'll find something you'd rather have released by then too. :)

    Ended up just purchasing it from HIDevolution @Donald@HIDevolution who was quite helpful through the configuration process.
    As I need a new laptop as my current one is half-dead.. Spilt something on it after warranty and it's kaput!

    I'm moving back to a place I was at before so it's no big move and it would be nice to use my own laptop while on holiday rather using my work laptop and looking at work emails!!

    Did you opt for a repaste?

    @Vistar Shook , Yes I did.

    The "Gelid GC Extreme on CPU + GPU and Stock thermal pads – installed by HIDevolution" I was told I wouldn't really need the more expensive repastes.

    They often get excited about their new laptop and we never hear from them again, which is cool, that's what it's about anyway - helping them get off to a good start. :)

    @Jaxom - how goes the new laptop?

    Hey! I'm still here. Just been flat-out with work. I haven't received it yet, @Donald@HIDevolution is waiting for some ram sticks to be ordered in before they start building it.. It should arrive this week so i'm thinking I may get it next week by the earliest.

    I got the FHD with LM, should arrive tomorrow and I got it from HIDevolution. They are great folks and I've been buying from them for a while now. Ted helped me out.

    Preordered 4K version with LM at HIDevolution. Superb service from @Donald@HIDevolution! Changed free accessories to No Defective Pixel Warranty, and enjoyed discount for NBR member. Definitely assuring shopping experience!

    Landed for work back home last night. First things that come out to me are (negatives)
    1. This can run very hot when gaming,
    2. Fan noise
    3. Keyboard isn't as seamless as i'd like

    (positives)
    1. Gorgeous display
    2. Powerful setup

    Will post a slightly more detailed review End of week.
