    Hi guys,

I have an Aero 15x since 2 years and a half (warranty over) and the first big problem has arrived, of course right outside the warranty.

Since yesterday this weird display problem occured and it does not go away.
Video can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KzSN1IfugS4y4c2KCmOVgretyxb27qB_/view?usp=sharing

As you can see the bottom half of the screen is shifting every few seconds. The horizontal lines are shifting and make everything blurry. Hard to read text. My display drivers are exactly as the official drivers in the SmartUpdate app.

Has anyone faced this problem before? I'm not sure if it's hardware or software, I'm not an expert.

Edit: This is even already happening on the boot screen so that might mean it is hardware-related? And with both intel and nvidia drivers and devices removed from device manager still the same issue...

    Thanks in advance for answering!

Hook it to an external screen to see if it does it. If it works normally, then it's likely an issue with the screen. If not, it could be a problem with the GPU, motherboard or software. Booting to a Linux distro will rule in or out, depending on the results, something being wrong with the currently installed software. If those fail, it probably wouldn't hurt to pop it open and re-seat the cable if you feel up to it. Good Luck.

    thanks for the reply Zaz!

External screen has no issues through HDMI. So graphics card is fine. So I am thinking towards a problem with the vertical sync of the screen (bottom half only). The weird thing is the issue is now gone since 24h. But it comes and goes so might return soon. When it returns I will boot in a Linux distro to check whether the problem remains. Is a Linux live USB sufficient for proper check?

    Thx

If you haven't seen it in a few week, perhaps it has fixed itself. You just need to boot the desktop and see if it works properly. If it does not that means it's almost surely a hardware issue, though nothing in life is 100%.
