    Hello! First time posting!

I live in UK and my new Aero (15.6" Gigabyte AERO 15-XA, 4K UHD, AMOLED, i7 9750H, 16GB DDR4, 512GB NVMe SSD, 8GB GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q) is coming today. If I want it during the first 14 days during which you have the right to return it even if there is no fault to it, etc, for sure I would like to upgrade only the ram to 32gb (no repasting, etc) and add a second 1tb SSD without voiding the warranty, and also looking for compatible recommendations for it.

I saw a list on other threads, and I was wondering if I should just follow it, or you have any more advice or recommendations on it for this new model.

    Thanks!

upgrading the ram on gigabyte laptops is such a pain as it is very fickle as the ram on their recommended list is not guaranteed to work. This time around I just let gentech upgrade the ram as it's not worth the aggravation to do it yourself.

I just did the ssd upgrade on my laptop. I got a decent deal on Samsung Evo 970. Ended up cloning the intel and moving everything to the Samsung and it makes a huge difference in startup and load times. The samsung is my backup drive now. I've suggested this on different forums but if I had not found the samsung at a decent price I would go with either Adata SX8200 (economical) or Seagate Firecude 510 (non-economical)

When it comes to ram, I'm trying to see which route I want to go but the option would be to either get ddr4 3000mhz which would be Either G.Skill Ripjaws or Corsair Vegenace. You can always go all out and get ddr4 3200 at which point I would recommend Kingston HyperX as they are considered the best ram for laptop in terms of performance.

I also noticed on my aero that they put stickers on top ofthe two bottom screws not sure if that's for warranty or just accessories :)

i know officially, the new aero 15 say max supported speed for RAM is 2666, but is there any way via overclocking or otherwise to do 3000?

I havent been able to find anything on max speed. Do you have a source on this? If thats the case, then I would suggest just getting Corsair or Kingston 2666mhz ram. It will be better than the samsung

My understanding and I have seen it repeated is that only the HK processors which are the tip top of the line can run ram speeds over 2666 or overclock. I was wondering the same thing and thats what my research told me.
