    Just got a p57xv6. Is it normal that the lid doesn't stay closed? If you transport it sideways or put it in a backpack vertically it will open a little and stay open. It doesn't really bother me too much as it's mostly sitting on my desk but I'm a bit leery of the hinge durability in the long term since it's just these two little things on the sides holding up a massive 17" screen and casing.

    Having trouble finding other support forums for this specific model P57X-v6. Has anyone had success installing Windows 7? I've only found a few posts where the unsuccesful user couldn't disable the onboard Intel HD graphics chip and make the Nvidia 1070 the only GPU. Until that's fixed, it will only BSOD.

    Needed if I'm to use this laptop to adequately test new applications being developed on legacy corporate Win7 machines. Otherwise it will need to be done on a separate machine.
