Sorry for the delays but I finally have a chance to do the video. Haven't done anything like this before so please bear with me. 1st mistake is right at the start. It should be ambient noise not temp. Temp in the room is about 65F. The video is still uploading and should be ready in about 1 1/2 hour at this link

Update: Just got back to the office and notice that there was a copyright claim on Adele's Hello and the video got muted. The original file is in the home PC so I can't do anything about it till I get home tonight. I either have to remake it or find a way to cut the Adele's portion out.

Update 2: It seems that Youtube have an edit function that would remove the music from a video. I'm giving that a try. If it works, you can still get an idea on how loud the volume is by playing Adele's hello at about the same volume level using a noise meter app on a smartphone.

Update 3: The youtube removal feature basically removed the whole audio track, not just the portion that had Hello so that's a total bust. I'll have to redo the video tonight.

Why did you even put music in the video to begin with ?

It could have been background music. Anyone know if the 4k screen is better then the TN screen for gaming? Which has a better response time?

So you can play the same clip at about the same volume level on your PC/Laptop using a sound meter app. which in turns gives you a easy reference point as the fan noise goes up, without some sort of reference, you would have no idea how loud the fan actually is. i think I have found some clips with copyright free music so I'll use those on the next try and then put the link to the clip in the description.

OK. Lets try this again. 2 part video, 1st part is noise level. This is the link for the video that I played at 50%:

    and here's the actual video:

Part 2 is after I let the game run for about 5-10 mins and the CPU and GPU temp have maxed out and then I measure varies area on the laptop with a thermal sensor:

None of the reviews I've seen so far listed the screen response time but I would assume they would at least say something if there is a noticeable lag on games since they all did a fair amount of gaming benchmark.

I haven't done a lot of gaming on it yet as I've been busy setting it up with all the office stuff I'll need for my upcoming trip. If you read my earlier message on checking temperature. You'll see that I did play a bit of Armored Warfare in a 2560 x 1600 window while having HWmonitor running on another window. I mentioned that I was surprise to get top score in the match since I normally game on a 32"-40" 4K screen. This probably means that I managed good aim despite playing in a ~12" window using a laptop mouse so I assume lag is minimal.

Thanks for the videos, just comparing it to my 970 GTX and its only 10db-15db louder when gaming. I just snagged 4k one off amazon for $1,587.45, huzzah!

    Hi,

    I have had my p35x v6 for about 3 weeks now after owning p34g,x v1, v3, v5...

I travel a lot and do a lot of 3d modelling and realtime architectural flyarounds using Sketchup and Twinmotion software...

personslly, I prefer the p34 form factor.. it was compact in carry on... discrete in professional presentations and a plus on both gigabyte models is they have vga ports and many clients/authorities still only have vga projectors...

I was hoping the 1070 would come in the p34 form factor but that hadn't happened and a power surge here knocked out my current p34x v5 so forced my hand in getting a new one.

So I committed to the p35x v6 thru online thru affordable computers aus and picked it up on a recent trip to Aus from Vietnam.

I am happy with the capability of the machine.. realtime flyarounds on my 2560 external monitor are a breeze... but the size and weight was a little bit of a shock after my p34..

overall its about 1kg heavier with powerbrik... and the pb is big... where I used to have spareroom on my carry on it has all become a little tighter. Its managable but you notice things like less room to open up on an economy seat.. and impossible if the guy in front reclines..

Also the build quality seems less than tne p34... mainly in the keyboard.. its still ok.. but not as precise as the p34... some keys seem to be vague...

so in hindsight.. I would get the p34 with 1060 and as the weight and convienence matters to me.. I just wish they had kept the smaller battery as I had 2 ssds in my p34 with tne smaller battery... and I am always on ac unless flying and 3 hours battery is enough for me..dont need 10 hours..

mind you the 1070 is a big performance + over the 1060... but the 1060 is still a performance plus over the 970...

PS... question for all you tech heads out there.. If I use a smaller powerbrik when travelling... can the internal battery boost watts to the ac supply when I use heavy apps ( eg does it work like a hybrid engine) eg allowing me to carry a lighter brik..?

    . the p35 brick is 210w... the p34 brick is 150w

    regards

If it's a gigabyte brick it might work but you could either overheat the adapter or cause the internal battery to discharge and just have the system shut off after 1-2 hours.

Hi all. I've recently purchased a p35x v6 and have a question regarding fan noise. Just browsing the internet, the fan is ~35dB with my cpu steadily at 40 C. Is that normal for this model? The temps aren't too worrying, but the fan is very loud compared to previous "gaming" laptops I've owned. Thanks.
