They cost nearly the same, and weight the same. So the main selling points of each are:

    Aorus X7 DT v6:

    + Superior 120Hz 3K screen (4K is an option)
    + Superior 6820hk CPU
    - Thicker (1" vs 0.88")
    - Louder
    - No Thunderbolt 3.0

    New Razer Blader 17.3":

    + Thunderbolt 3.0
    + Thinner (0.88" vs 1")
    + Mechanical keyboard
    + Better thermals, less noisy
    - No 120Hz screen, but with full Adobe RGB, IGZO touchscreen
    - Slower 6700 CPU

..... so, which one would you go for?

Pricing on X7DT on Xoticpc is 3099( if I recall correctly), the Razer one is staring from 3699.
The storage on x7dt is 512G sad+1t had. Razer only has SSD.
On thermal, I personally not so sure that Razer can handle such kind of heat. And the noise, I also don't think Razer will get the better off Aorus.
On screen panel, X7dt is 2560x1440 120hz/5ms screen, Razer has 4K igzo touch screen. Both have G-Sync.
In short, I think is based on your own need. Both are slim laptop with 1080 GPU . Both will have some kind of thermal and noise issue and other kind of problems.

As usual I don't like trying to do these comparisons until the products are both out. Until there are reviews of the Blade Pro I don't think it makes sense to compare them yet.
For example you said better thermals and much less noise for the Blade, I honestly highly doubt that.

If those were the variables for the comparison, I'd go with the Razer over the Aorus.
But as @geniusfb and @Galm17 mentioned, they're not the only factors and even then, they are highly questionable as they are. Thermals and noise have to be directly considered to the CPU and GPU clocks and the notebook's ability to maintain them. If that GTX 1080 is going to be aggressively underclocked then one should rethink the comparison.
Other things to consider are if you need the wider gamut on the IGZO screen or prefer the 120 Hz on the 3K or if you'll overclock the 6820HK so as to it being a selling point over the 6700HQ (to mention a couple of factors, not saying those are the only two).

I would say the 1440p 120Hz screen on the Aorus is better for gaming, and my gut says the Razer is going to run a lot hotter... So again, I would wait.

I agree, even though the Aorus will already run quit ehot. I think the Razer will be much worse. ALso razer uses a fairly low powered powersupply for the specs. I think the Razer Pro is going to be a disaster.

Overall, I would choose razer blade pro 2016, I have my reasons and some questions too.
    pros
    1, razer is smaller. Thinner and shorter.428(W) x 305(D) x 22.9 - 25.4(H) mm vs 424x 281x225
2, razer has 4k screen. If the fps is too low, we can switch to 1080, and because of the high ppi, I think the visual difference between 1080p on native 4k screen and 1080p on native 1080p screen would not be too big. Also, 4k video can be watched with original 4k resolution.
    cons
1, aorus has 6820, and upgradable ram (up to 64g).
2, aorus has 120hz screen, helps when you play high fps games
3, aorus has extra 1t hhd inside

of course, my biggest concern is the heat issue. I donno razer. My aorus x7 pro is doing ok, with 970m sli. Good news is both gpu never go over 87, but cpu hits 93 frequently in heavy duty games. Also, my x7 pro has a hackintosh system, and it would be perfect if I have a 4k screen, so I am really looking forward to hackintosh the new razer with 4k screen.

ps: I also concern about the battery life, but they both have similar battery size, so I guess they would perform the same. However, the integrated graphic card is disabled for both of them, which will dramatically decrease the battery life, and I just don't know why would both manufacturers do this. Some people says it's because of the gsync technology, but seriously, my aorus x7 pro has gsync now, and I don't feel it's helping with the graphics. All the graphic tearing is already fixed when we enanble vertical synchronization, so gsync for me is just redundant.

Just saw GentechPC's review of the D6 T and I am actually surprised with the temps for both 6820HK and GTX1080.

You can check the video here https://youtu.be/ijc-E2vdwCM

Overall it performs slightly slower than comparable GTX1080 (like the GT73, scoring 19k Aorus vs 21K in Firestrike GPU). But temps look great and the screen too. Looks like an overall improvement from previous versions of the Aorus Line.

The current bad side I would say is the fan noise. Remains to be seen how users feel about it :)

I pre-ordered the Aorus based on the video above. Solid build quality, solid keyboard, hopefully band-free 1440p 120hz display, good temperature (at the expense of loud fans, but I'll deal). The price for the RAM and NVMe drive configuration is just crazy good. Usually the markup is $300-$400 more for that baseline amount of memory and storage based on my internet searches for Alienware and Asus. I sprung for a liquid metal thermal material upgrade so I can overclock the gpu.

Let us know how well it overclocks. Honestly, I would try to maximize temps rather than overclock on such a thin notebook. If you manage full desktop speed, that will be a great start. The CPU will greatly help for the high refreshrate too.

Well when it's overclocked. A default 6820hk is like 6% faster than a 6700hq. OC it and it goes way beyond.

Edit: Also as a general note I'd recommend against putting polls pitting one product against another in a place made for one of those products. Not gonna get a non-biased answer.

Is the Aorus X7 dt v6 compatible with any eGPU?

Canceled my order based on TDP issues with the GTX 1080 and sublime build quality test of an Alienware. Decisions are hard.

Cancelled Aorus because of the build quality of Alienware?

The (what I perceive as) higher quality of the overall materials used and strength of the unit, yes. That, and I believe the GTX 1080 version of the Aorus will be gimped with a 240W psu instead of 330W. Verdict's still out on cooling, but I have to make a decision at some point. :)

I have a brand new Alienware 15 R3 here and although some parts are well built and the chassi is OK, I would probably rate the Aorus X7 Pro (v3) that I also have higher in overall quality. Factor in the manufacturing problems with the AW and you know why I have scheduled a return for it.

Thanks for the info! I sent you a pm with some more questions and advice as I didn't want to involve my AW talk in the OP's thread. xD In regards to that specifically, Aorus all the way based on price and better cooling and a screen resolution the GTX 1080 can for sure handle.

I will go for Aorus X7 DT v6 honestly. While Razer Blade Pro 2016 is definitely sexy and beautiful, I feel like Aorus x7 Dt v6 is more compelling option for me personally.

it is much cheaper (about $600)
    It has i7 - 6820HK
It has more ports than Razer Blade (Two HDMI, one mdp)
2 Years World Warranty (Even though Aorus / Gigabyte doesn't have fantastic service, it is better than nothing)
It has more storage and ram options. If i want to I can add 4 tb of ssd, 2 tb hdd (Not very realistic upgrade, but still possiible), and up to 64gb of ram.

I just hope they add 2 more usb 3.0 ports (total of 5), support TB3, and add one more HDD slot, for the future product.

Based on price and specs I would go with the aorus. This is coming from a guy with an Alienware 17 R4. As for thermals, I liquid metal any laptop I own so it isn't much of an issue. On the 17 R4, with liquid metal I can loop unigine heaven for 2 hours and both CPU and GPU will max at mid 70s Celsius with fans locked to 2k rpm. Assuming the aorus cooling isn't quite as good, maybe you can add 10 degrees to such a scenario which is still amazing.
