Just thought I'd share my experience so no one else touches this garbage company.
Purchased a new Aero 15 laptop a few months back. RAM died a few weeks in. Ok... Replaced it on my own because I hate RMA's and don't have time to send it out ($230). Fast forward a few months, it no longer holds more than an 80% charge. Ok. Now it's RMA time. Luckily I have a work laptop for backup now, so downtime is ok.
So I try to set up an RMA, and that process on it's own takes me about a month. Mostly they just ignored me until I posted on their own forum asking why they are ignoring me. Finally they OK it. I ship it out ($50, but whatever, I expect to pay shipping). They fix it in a week, and send it back with UPS. I thought my nightmare was over, and even thought "wow, quick repair".
I get it back today and get a nice $202.06 customs bill from UPS. For a product originally PURCHASED in Canada. So I've now paid double taxes on it, in addition to fees just to have an item RETURNED. Some dummy at Gigabyte forgot to mark this as a return or something maybe? So I email them. They actually get back to me super fast this time and say "yeah, we don't care, that's not our problem".
What kind of trash company is this?
So I paid $2400 for this laptop. Had it for a few months. And sofar I've put $482.06 into this laptop, just trying to have a BRAND NEW laptop that works.
Oh and to top it all off, they left marks in the frame from where they pried it open. Nice.
If you're considering buying from Gigabyte, I suggest you stay far away. There's far better for comparable prices that have customer service that don't want to screw you over.

Just another reason why I get used machines.
No warranty to expect to be fulfilled. If it fails I just replace the part I need, sucks to see this happen though.Vasudev likes this. -
Most people have issues with Dell or Gigabyte support and reported a lot of unacceptable behavior. I even got some bad experience with Clevo's service, they also love to ignore people.
Interestingly enough so far the only company that actually gave a damn from my experience was MSI and dare i say...Asus *shivers*. I mean Asus was pretty incompotent, but they at least tried.hmscott likes this. -

Gigabyte/AORUS UK support is outstanding.
Shame about the levels you have received. -
ASUS - never had to do anything. My G75VX was a tank and simply worked.
Dell/Alienware - Fantastic service. Techs came to the house to fix my wife's laptop twice. My 15 R3 is a beast and won't quit.
Gigabyte/Aorus - Absolutely the worst PRODUCT ever, great on paper but in practice, their stuff doesn't lastrinneh likes this. -
yeah highend hardware in a slim case with tiny fans. Sound great on paper, what could possibly go wrong. -

Not only is the CPU throttling pretty hard, but the RAM are pretty much on death temps as well.
yeah tiny case for high end hardware. Sounds great on paper, temps are fantastic, would kill it again.
The cooling cannot even handle 45Watts. Look at that crap, the CPU uses around 45Watts and is still well above 90c. This is a joke. Who thought getting an unlocked CPU into that crap was a great idea?!
Not even conductonaut can save this crap.Last edited by a moderator: Mar 11, 2018 -
This is why I tend to buy from resellers like HIDevolution.com. I've bought 5 laptops from them and 1 had a bad camera after a yr owning it. Contacted HID and got it back fixed in less than 2 weeks. The 2nd time is getting a DoA due to LM and frying the GFX. Sent it in and got a refund to buy a new one. Morale of the story is I had HID do all the work for me and it was painless. Their service, support and warranties are so worth it. I mean they're REALLY REALLY SO WORTH IT.

So you mailed your newly bought $2,500 laptop out of the country, Gigabyte fixed it! They mailed it back to you in your country and it was only $252 total out of pocket? Shipping is expensive!! What’s the problem?
I mean your outside of the states.. itleast they fixed it! Your really making Gigabyte look bad.
I’m sure Gigabyte didn’t make the memory that failed, and you chose to buy more memory.
Sorry to the OP who had such a hard time. But,
No matter what kind of product you have, or how good of a warranty..anyone is bound to have a bad experience sooner or later! That is life.
Highly unlikely you’d have another bad experience with Gigabyte. Things happen...hmscott likes this. -

The beauty of Aorus/gigabyte laptops is that they are slim and can easily pass as real laptops for portability and media entertainment.
....but...always use a cooling solution when playing games full power for extended periods. Your cpu and gpu temps may look fine but the bottom chasis and motherboard will get very hot.
(Laptop cooler or something like that)
My Aorus never gets hot except in those situations and I'll happily blow some air around the bottom when playing to take good care of the motherboard. Even if cpu/gpu temps don't drop much with a 5v usb cooling fan... motherboard temps do.
Or..buy a big chunker laptop to sit on your desk and be useless anywhere else but you won't need a cooling tray when gaming :/ -

At home i have 12v 120mm fans built into my desk and bedside laptop tray.
On the go ill use a Notepal X Slim cooler because its cheap, slim and has a big fan that i find keeps the bottom of the X9 from becoming too hot. -
