Bought a P35G V2 today and was under the impression it came with an IPS panel.

Anyone have experience replacing the panel? I'm under the impression I can use the same LG IPS panel found in reviews of the P35W.. but is it easy to get to?

EDIT: Swapped it with a N156HGE-LG1, works perfectly!

Run HWInfo (freeware) and check under "monitor" if your machine has an eDP connector or an LVDS (or, what is the exact panel model). If it's an eDP one, you can replace it quite easily, probably.

Thanks, all I know is that it was a Chi Mei panel from looking at Device Manager and reading the hardware ID. Might be the same panel in the Y50 I bought the other day (which I'm selling later).

I imagine it would be an eDP connector, but can't seem to find a panel swap guide or video. Need to figure out how to take the front bezel off later.

As I wrote - you can use the HWInfo software to see this information, under "monitor" category

    Appreciate the help.

It's not that simple. LVDS is not a standard like the eDP and two LVDS panel might not be compatible with one another.. I don't know what to tell you
Try and call laptopscreen and ask them, they may have some alternative higher quality display

Thanks, I ended up posting over in the Hardware Components section.

Found a panel that might fit. We will see.

Did you ever find one that would work? I made the same mistake with this laptop and would love to upgrade the panel if possible
