Just FYI. Confirmed all units come with 2x Crucial M550's in RAID-0 by default. Honestly that is quite surprising given the cost being anywhere from $200-300/ea. That's almost $600 in SSD's.

4 hours battery life, that's a bit disappointing ;[ I get the same with my P34G V2 and 49Wh battery on power saving mode.
FYI Crucial M550's 256gb msata SSDs cost about $100 on Amazon - they are great units though. -
Where do you see them for $100? http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IRRDJ9C/ref=twister_B00ISVNYUG?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
EDIT: My bad. They are $100. I was looking at 512GBLast edited: Feb 12, 2015 -
No worries =)
Could any of you just capture CPU and GPU temps during a FireStrike benchmark ? Would like to compare with the P35x V3 and RB14 2015 temps on the same benchmark!
Thanks! -
ill try today if I have time.

just got my v3. nice looking machine but the keyboard is kinda wavy which is a disappointment. Had a couple questions. I have a mstata from my last laptop. Can i just pop it in and be good raid 0? Theres some data I would like to transfer over to this laptop. Best way of doing that? Thanks
-
Take a picture of the keyboard. I haven't seen any "waves" on mine. MSata should just be plug and play on the empty slot. Raid-0 is for configuring to or more drives in a stripe to double your read/write speeds. You would just be running it as a standalone second drive.
-
So if I just pop it in I can get the info and then delete it since it has my old OS on it? I rather run them all as one storage unit. I'll get a pic in a bit after I get it up to speed. Seems to be a decent bulge in the middle but I think its getting less after some typing.
-
I would not recommend running dissimilar SSD's as a single RAID-0. Yes you can install it. The Aorus by default should only boot off of a UEFI partition so it shouldn't even attempt to do that. Plus to create a new RAID-0 you need to wipe all the drives and start over.
-
Will it run faster with 3 in raid 0 vs 2 with one storage? Also are you running at 1800 or 900? Having certain programs not scale well and being blind doesnt help. Wondering if going to 900 resolution would be worth it.
-
Yea my extra mstata is a Plextor 256 M5M so I'm guessing that it wouldnt match well with the stock ones
-
Yea I wouldn't do that. I'm running at 1920x1080 and it seems fine to me.
-
@LVNeptune are you not returning your aorus and going for new razer balde? I am deciding between aorus and razer. Can you help me with few question?
How is build quality is it that bad? I can see about the screen and keyboard flex from your videos , i am ok with that, apart from that what was it bothering you about quality, and is it made of plastic, does if feel premium or plasticky? and what about the creek sound , when do you hear, i mean doing what things and from which parts is it coming? and do you find it, the creeking will sort of decrease the life of laptop or will break in 2-3 years of use
and what about the crack you posted few days back?can you post a pic from a little bit long distance, because cannt see nd analyze from that close angle,
and finally fan noise, can you listen or notice during idle and during light load like browsing, ms office works? -
The creaking is NOT coming from the hinges or anything. It's actually coming from the bottom panel rubbing against the frame when opening and closing the lid.
Not sure what crack you mean, the screen edge rubbed on the hinge area rubbed against the frame. Honestly I think I might have just received a bad unit. I am most likely going to exchange it. HIDEvolution is usually good with that sort of stuff.
I'm going to keep it and purchase a secondary RB 2015 in a few weeks when it is in stock at the Microsoft store. At least I can do a side by side comparison between them. The Firestrike tests are useless to test VRAM since neither use 3GB or more of VRAM.
There's different fan modes. I have mine on "Auto - High" and during work related stuff that's not heavily intensive the fan is not audible. During gaming it's louder but much quieter than the Razer Blade. -
How are you getting games to force a resolution without having to manually do it everytime?
-
I'm not understanding the question. Any game should save the resolution you configure in game.
-
Example is on Civ V, I have my desktop resolution set at 1600 x 900 but when i set at in Civ I get black borders like its not scaling correctly.
-
Install the newest Intel GPU drivers and set to "maintain aspect ratio" when scaling. Should fix it.
-
Ok so how do I do that. I downloaded the latest driver but cant find where that option it.
-
Right Click Desktop and Intel Graphics Properties I think. Should be on the main screen.
-
Did you get the driver through intel because I still dont have that option
-
Yes. I'll take a picture later. It might only show up if your desktop is at 1920x1080.
-
Just got an odd reply from Aorus support
Asked them about ordering or getting a replacement touchpad cover
"Kindly note that we do not sell protector for touchpad and normally we do not suggest user to use it because it may lead the result that the touchpad do not work smoothly."
In my experience the touchpad doesn't work "smoothly" without the cover. -

Looks like I am going to test Aorus's customer service. The unit randomly won't start up now. It acts as if there is no bootable drive found even though it sees both msata's in a RAID-0. I am going to reformat the RAID array and make one more attempt. This is very annoying.
-
Got the driver off intel and found that option so everything is good to go. Had a question about resolution. Currently switched to 1080 but do you think running at 900 would have a better picture since its an 1800 screen?
-
It's honestly debatable. I think 1080p is fine but 900p is exactly half the resolution of the panel which is supposedly better. I run everything at 1920x1080 minimum personally.
Received my X3+ V3 Review/Details Inside
