So I wanted to start a new thread that clearly states which devices work or don't work. There is an official list from Gigabyte but I can hardly believe those are the only ones working. The official list is available here:

    http://manage.faq.gigabyte.com/FileUpload/FAQ/global/3836/Aero 15 (i7-8750H) Aero 15X (i7-8750H)_HDD&RAM_ENGre3.pdf

    My updated list:
    View attachment 172233

Crucial also has a compatibility list for the AERO 15X V8 (same link as in my sceenshot):

    https://eu.crucial.com/eur/en/compatible-upgrade-for/GIGABYTE/aero-15x-(i7-8750h)#SSDFilters

My PDF is linked in the bottom in case you want to copy the product numbers.

So if you have installed other memory modules or SSDs yourself please comment in this thread and say which exact types are working or not working so I can update the list for everyone's reference.

    Hi there,

good idea. I installed this 16 GB Kit in my Aero 15x v8 and it works flawlessly:

    HX426S15IB2K2/16

I'll provide a link as soon as I am on my laptop again.

Check the appended screenshot. The 970 EVO Plus 1TB is working fine in my 15x v8. You can also see which RAM modules work together without any problems in this machine.

Thanks Dries for your reply. Did you only upgrade the empty slot? So if you are using two different RAM modules, how does the 15X cope with that?

I'm also curious how well they work together, despite being of near equal speed and performance. It's often best to have the same memory to avoid conflicts, but knowing that sometimes different brands can work together and test fine is excellent to see.

    @JC1987, @Support.2@XOTIC PC

You can see it on the attached screenshot in my last post.

PS: They are working perfect together. Never had a BSOD or crash yet. Bought it at the 25th of February this year.

A month without conflicts is great, then. Thanks for that, Drieschel.

This is incredibly interesting. I wonder if the random BSODs I get are a result of using "non-supported hardware".

I have 2x16GB of Corsairs running at 2666 which I got from HID which have passed multiple full memtests. I also added a 1TB WD black (2018) model.

Everything seems to be working fine, and is for about 2-3 weeks. Then random BSOD out of nowhere with random causes: memory corruption, structure something, etc...

Wish I could test this without have the massive cost of getting another NVME SSD, as well ass 32GB of RAM....

    I have successfully installed:
    1) RAM: Kingston KVR26S19D8/16 alongside the stick that came with the laptop (CBD26D4S9D8ME-16)
    2) SSD: Intel 660p 2TB

Still testing but so far so good. See more in my original write up in this thread.

Awesome! Any updates on that since the post? Still running smoothly after a couple of days?

Didn't even have a chance to turn it on yesterday o_O, but no issues on the day prior (pretty much a full day of use - video editing, back ups, system restore, moving files from old backup to make use of the new 2TB drive). No BSODs or odd behaviour noticed.

But the ram was certainly painful to get it to that point.

Is there anything like this for the 15-X9?

    Thanks!

Make one yourself, that's what I did! But I think mine is mostly cross-compatible with X9...

Trying to install 2x16gb 32fb kit Kingston hyperx impact 2666mhz cl15 as reported by many on my aero 15 oled WA with latest fb08 bios but no way to let them work, only if I remain inside an original 8gb Samsung stick.. tried swapping, changing position, one stickz two sticksz , revers.. both sticks work if one Samsung is in. This is pissing me off... Tried rebooting , uninstalling battery... No way... Any suggestion guys?

Also thermals are a pain, undervolted CPU -0,150mv but frequency is not fixed, goes from 3,9 to 4... I'd like to stick at fix 4,5ghz 45x multiplier all cores.... And for you best undervoltsge suggestion curve with msi afterburner to let this device work at his max under stress without never hitting above 80°c on both CPU and GPU? Then will also try repast with liquid metal + thermal pads + cooling pad but at the moment I want the Kingston rams to work...

I exactly had the same problem with the Kingston HyperX modules ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...5-owners-lounge.804575/page-399#post-10975483). I tried it multiple times but they didn't run. Then I bought a 2x16 GB kit from G.Skill (Ripjaws F4-2666C18D-32GRS), which works like a charm. Those modules are on the official compatiblity list from Gigabyte. The differrence between the S in the listed module to the D in my version is Single to Dual. The modules are exactly the same I think (1 x F4-2666C18D-32GRS = 2 x F4-2666C18S-16GRS)

First of all, thanks for posting. Great info.

I've been researching upgrading my RAM and have made my way through the mega thread on this site, as well as the few YouTube walkthroughs. From the model number you provided (F4-2666C18D-16GRS) I'm only finding links to the 16GB kit (2 x 8GB).

Hoping to get the 2x16 kit online but the model number is F4-2666C18D-32GRS. Any thoughts on if this will present an issue?

    Rated at
Rated at 5,7W, do you have heat problems and do you use a heatsink or not? Please explain because the power consumption is what's keeping me from upgrading...

My fault, I bought the F4-2666C18D-32GRS and not the F4-2666C18D-16GRS.

Just want to share mine as this thread and the longer one really helped me out.
I had my AERO 15x V8 for 2 years now and ever since I got it I wanted to upgrade it to 32 GB and add more storage but didn't want to void the warranty. So I decided that I'll do it after the warranty. My machine came with the G-Skill 16GB memory and I was able to pair with the same memory, model: F4-2666C18S-16GRS.

    See images here: https://imgur.com/a/nqVNSQo

My machine's SKU is AERO15-1070-BK82P. I noticed @drieschel is -DE425PB which appears to be different (I think) but should be the same motherboard from what I understand.

I'll look out for any issues I would get along the way but would just like to thank this thread and the other one for the help!
