The site for the p35x v3 says it can only take 500gb drives in the msata slots, but would it still be possible to use 1 or 2 tb drives there? Or would I have to use 500gb drives?

I'm sure it uses the 1 tb msata drive

There is no such thing as a 2 tb msata.

But there is a 2 tb 2.5 inch ssd. And it can take one of those. 2 if you remove the optical drive.

So it has one 2.5 inch and 2 msata ssd slots.

Not m2 ssd. But msata. And they do go to 1 tb.
