I can't seem to find any reviews for the non 1440p screen, and this model I've seen on newegg only has a 256 gb ssd:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834725034

    1) Does the 1920x1080 IPS screen have the white stripping issue that the 2560x1440 screen has? I was wondering how good this model's screen is with the 1920x1080 IPS screen and can anyone confirm that it has g-sync?

    2) What are the speeds of the 256gb ssd that comes with this laptop? Is it better or on par with the samsung 950 pro 256gb ssd that I bought off newegg?

    3) If I replaced the ssd and the hdd with a samsung 950 pro m.2 ssd and a 850 evo 1tb sata 3 ssd and need to return the laptop for rma, will I receive back my 2 aftermarket samsung SSDs that I bought or do I need to replace them back before RMA?

    4) I also bought right now an MSI gs73vr, does anyone know if the Aorus x7 v6 is a better laptop in terms of throttling and temperatures on the gpu and cpu?

    5) For those of you who own the Aorus x7 v6, what complaints do you have now if any after using it for some time? I know as far as the MSI GS73vr goes people have complained about the track pad buttons getting stuck inside the frame of the laptop until they took it apart to get rid of the stuck track pad and the space bar not registering being used if used off to the side too much. Any worries like this for you guys?

I ordered this last week so I will answer after I receive and have a chance to use it a while. I think the 1080 screen is TN as it's 120Hz, I haven't seen any 1080 120Hz IPS displays. Also, this laptop qualifies for their extended holiday return policy which gives you until January 31st to return with no restock fee. It's one of the main reasons I ordered from them as I can answer all these questions for myself as opposed to relying on someone else's review/benchmarks.

You're 100% certain the 1080 resolution screen is 120hz? Does it have the white stripping issue as the 1440 resolution screen?

Can you take a screen shot of the refresh rate on the display?

Actually, sorry. The 15 inch screen is 120Hz, the 17 inch is 60Hz, but it's IPS not TN. Again this is exactly why I ordered from them so I can determine if I prefer the 120Hz TN or 60Hz IPS. The horizontal stripping issue is only the 2560x1440 120Hz screens, it's also not only an Aorus issue, the same display is used by other manufacturers with similar issues.

Got it today, 1080 screen is 75Hz IPS. There is absolutely no horizontal stripping issue and zero light bleed with an all black background. It's very nice. Haven't had much time to play with it but I did run a 15,104 on Firestrike right out of the box. Let me know if you have any questions.

Do you have Witcher 3 by any chance? At 1080p with max settings, HBAO+, hair works with max AA, what frames do you get and what are your cpu and gpu temps? Did you get it off amazon or newegg or a boutique reseller like xotic or hidevolution with aftermarket thermal paste?

Also how loud do the fans get? And your personal opinion of how it looks in person compared to the pictures you've seen prior to it online?

Don't have Witcher 3. This review tests Witcher 3...

Got it at Newegg. After reading all the reviews stating the fans were so loud I was surprised they didn't seem all that loud to me, pretty normal for a gaming laptop. It looks exactly the same, the build quality is excellent. The chassis is all aluminum and feels really premium compared to my old Alienware 17R4. I wish I could compare it to the new Alienwares but I don't have access to one.

I've been running a lot of Benchmarks and the max I've seen the CPU go is 70c, GPU 68c. I made some tweaks and got a 15304 on Firestrike, the review I saw for the A7 DT V6 with the GTX 1080 got a 159XX, so pretty close to that score. I had a DT V6 ordered from XoticPC but cancelled because I don't think a 230w PS is enough juice to drive the GTX 1080 and 6820HK, hence the seemingly low benchmarks. Honestly I think the 1070 will run any game on Ultra settings @ 1080p for quite some time.

Do you want to use my gog account and play witcher 3? I only have witcher 3 on my account so I don't mind sharing it. You can play the whole game if you want I hardly ever use my gog account. All I ask for in return is you to tell me your cpu, gpu temp when playing with max everything possible at 1080p

Quick question concerning the x7 v6 with the 1080p IPS display... what is the response time of that panel?

We already know it has a 75Hz refresh rate, but I haven't seen a single review of the laptop with the 1080p display. It's quite frustrating when manufacturers don't advertise the full specs of the machines they sell.

It would not really be the manufacturer's fault as it would be your standard IPS screen with standard IPS level response times and refresh rates. Unless its really like a first for that company like the 120hz 5ms screen. And to answer your question it would be in the 25 to 35ms range

Interested in getting Aorus X7 v6-PC3D (FHD) but I'm concerned about the quality of the monitor.

Can someone tell me the model of the LCD? You can find this under Device Manager -- Generic PnP Monitor -- Details - Hardware ID for instance MONITOR\LG173HW02

Using it right now! Its pretty good. I cant give any exact measurements as i do not own the tools for it but nice rich colors all round. Black levels are quite good too. And G Sync tops it off. I run it OCed at 100hz

When i google the monitor ID i cant actually find any info on it. Either no one uses this panel or im just doing it wrong...

Going strong as of this time. Had a small issue where my display driver would not install but thats an isolated issue with my OS. Also my left Alt key is loose but that was a factory defect and im not gonna bother replacing it since i have an external keyboard. Other than that, its excellent. Lasts me for around 3 and a half hours browsing the web in class. Got a - 165mv undervolt applied. Thermals looking great as well. Mid 60s to low 70s on both CPU and GPU with TG Kryonaut.

If its at a good price, you should really snag it. Update your drivers and you should be good for a few years at least with this machine. Keep in mind that this SKU has a 256GB m.2 rather than the 512GB in the 3K SKU

    Awesome to hear!
Is it easy to repaste the cpu and gpu on these? I can get it for between 1700 us and 1900 us. With the 1080p monitor only. I have a 512gb ssd already waiting for this if I do get it. I have been looking for a good desktop replacement that didn't weigh 10 lbs this looks like it might be the one. I heard you can oc the 1080p to 100z you have it right? Are you able to do that?

Yeap its quite simple. Just some T6 screws to get past and you're in. Alsp when you repaste, check how the wireless antennas are routed. Mine were directly contacting the bottom of a heatpipe so i changed it a little

And yea it can go 100hz easy. Got it running BO3 at 100hz atm

you rock man, thanks for the info. What difference did you see in temps when you repasted?

I cant really say how big my difference in temps are because i initially bought and used it in Malaysia for a few months before moving to the States to study so the ambient temp difference really doesnt do me any favors since its much colder up here. But i can say roughly a 10 plus celcius drop with an aggressive undervolt. Your results with the indervolt will vary depending on how much voltage you can take away from the CPU. I've been lucky to get mine down to -.165 and squeeze plenty of extra battery time and thermal headroom. I dont OC my CPU though, only the 1070

Pm me if you want more details! Always glad to help someone out :)

gotcha thanks for that! I will likely be ocing the cpu all the timeI couldn't find much info on temps when its oced to 4ghz vs any other cpus. At stock its about 5-10% faster than the 6700hq but thats all I can figure.

A full OC will def push the cooling system to its limit. I almost managed to overwhelm it doing a loop of Firestrike so i would say a 3.8 is a good level

I havent tried out 4Ghz in games. ONly in Firestrike. But that is not indicative of what games will be running at so i would think that you'll be fine...??? Just be wary of the fans. They are uh...pretty vocal

I am using it more for video rendering so cpu will be near 100% a lot of the time. No worries you have offered me a ton of info I appreciate it.

Is it possible to play games with low fan noise with this laptop? EX. I set CPU to 50% Speed at 60c, will it stick?

I think its doable if you set the max CPU clock to something like 2.7GHz and the GPU to [email protected].

Even with my CPU capped at 2.6Ghz (94% in power settings) with a -165mv undervolt it will still hit the mid 60 mark since the chassis is so thin and the heatsinks are exactly the thickest with fans on Max Auto. It will cycle up to roughly 65% fan speed even at such a low clock speed. So if you capped it around the 50% mark expect mid 60s to low 70s regardless. The fans cant move that much air given their small size. I dont know what luck you'll have with your unit but this is just my experience with doing that
