Hey Guys,
I've been doing a lot of reading about the P35X V3, and it seems to me that there are a heck of a lot of reliability issues in regards to hardware, and or software. I'm looking at getting a laptop for next year for University, and the P35W V3 seemed to be the ideal laptop. However the issues with the P35X, with the wifi/bluetooth, cpu throttling, and in some cases the keyboard, have kind of deterred me from the Gigabyte brand. I want a laptop that will be able to last for some time, but it doesn't seem as if the P35X can. I know the P35W is a different laptop and all, but it does seem fairly similar and I am just making the assumption that it will retain most of the issues found in the P35X.
My question to those who currently own the P35W. Are there any current issues with it? I understand many of you are just receiving them. But it would be nice to hear what you have to say about any potential niggles with your laptop.
Reading all these issues has really scared me about buying this laptop, and made me reconsider the MSI GS60 instead purely because of its reliability and lack of issues. I do however really want a 4+ hour battery life!
Cheers,

There are some videos on youtube about someone's Gigabyte P35K problems after 8 months of use and the customer support ordeal he had to go through documented on overclockers forum, he made a series of videos documenting the problems he had and the not so good RMA service from Gigabyte as well, one of his videos is
For the forum postings you'll have to google it, I know it's the P35K not so much the P35W but I feel they're close enough. Sadly, the only laptop brand I know with reliable and consistent build quality is Apple but they are crazy expensive ........... -
I am getting a P35 V3 soon, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed so everything go smoothly :/

Thanks . I went for GentechPC after people in here recommended them (also, they have a pretty good score on resellerratings: http://www.resellerratings.com/store/GenTech_Computers_15)

I know this is a little late as a post but I've experienced the following...
After purchasing in April 2015 last month (Oct 2015) the screen failed on me in my p35w v3.
It still works via hdmi to a monitor but from just shutting the laptop gently, never dropping it or taking it outside the house and very little use (I have a young family) it has faint vertical lines down the centre and no picture at all.
When I contacted the UK warranty team at mendit they said the warranty was now void because I had (back in May) put in an extra 8gb ram and a m2 SSD!
Even though I'd not touched the void stickers covering the gpu and cpu, they were arguing I'd voided the warranty!
It was only after emailing gigabyte directly, getting confirmation from them and phoning mendit that the warranty was not voided, they decided to act.
So far I've sent the laptop over a week ago via their UPS agreement and didn't hear anything until I emailed them; not even an email confirming my £1250 laptop had arrived safely! I'm still waiting to hear from them as to what the problem is... As an aside I used to work as a network administrator with a masters in IT so am highly qualified but didn't want to void the warranty in attempting to fix the problem myself.
For this reason I'd seriously question anyone wanting to buy a gigabyte product in the UK, like all electronics the product is only as good as its post sales support, and so far it's been highly questionable considering the cost of the laptop.
I'll update when I hopefully receive the laptop back. -

Sorry for the trouble, I can assure you this isn't up to par with the support we expect for our laptops. If you have issues like that in the future be sure to contact us immediately and you can trust we'll get it sorted out for you.

Hi GIGABYTE NB,
Laptop has been with your UK warranty partner now for 2 weeks, no email confirming its safe arrival, no email saying whats happening until I have contacted them on two occasions, and all i've been told is that an engineer will be looking at it soon. Still waiting for the return/any concrete news concerning my laptop that is 7 months old and cost me £1250...
Starting to think I made the wrong decision in choosing a GIGABYTE laptop... -

I'm a P35W v3 owner that was having a lot of Windows 10 BSOD issues. I originally put this down to NVIDIA and/or Intel driver issues as I was always able to work around them with either driver downgrades or forcing a game to use the NVIDIA GPU.
However, recently I bought the LG 27MU67-B (a beautiful 4K IPS monitor) and found that my P35W v3 would have frequent graphic glitches including two or three seconds of blank screen when connected to this monitor via DisplayPort (the monitor is fine with three other PCs).
This was gaming at 1080 (not 4K as I know the GPU wouldn't be powerful enough for that).
I took the P35W v3 back under warranty and have now got it back (about a week ago) to find that they had replaced the motherboard (the CPU was now the i7-4720HQ, when I originally had the i7-4710HQ).
The graphics glitches are almost totally resolved but still occur (less frequently).
Any modern game will show them (particularly Armoured Warfare).
I'm reluctant to send it back again as I feel that Gigabyte have done all they can.
So I'm left with a bad taste in my mouth in that Gigabyte don't seem to be able to engineer a laptop properly to function within specifications (and this is the v3, not their first attempt!).
I suppose that the only thing left to do now is a repaste and I'm wondering what thermal compound people would recommend?
Are there reputable reviews of modern thermal compounds I can check?
I'm sure not happy with Gigabyte after this experience and won't be considering them again for a notebook.Last edited: May 5, 2016
