Has anyone seen an English language review of the P34Wv3 or P35Xv3? Specifically I'm interested in heat and noise levels, and an overview of the chassis build quality.

I've done a lot of searching and have come up with nothing. It's not due out until late November either in Australia which is making me really lean toward to much more readily available and of reputable build quality GS60 3k more.

My wife has a GS-60 and there's two things that bug me about it.

    1. The panel is so thin it borders on being flimsy. With almost no force I could bend it and shatter it. Other thin notebooks like a Razer Blade or MacBook Pro have thin screens that don't feel like I could accidentally bend them in half.

    2. The GS-60 is a slim laptop with a 15.6" screen and the physical dimensions of a slim laptop with a 17" screen. Note that the physical dimensions of GS-60 and GS-70 are nearly identical, and the Razer Blade Pro has less depth than both. These are big laptops, even if they are thin. The screen hinge of the GS-70 is clearly higher quality as well. I'm not sure why anyone would buy a GS-60, it feels inferior to the GS-70 in every way except perhaps for a higher DPI screen option.

    (14") P34W - 13.39" x 9.41" x 0.83" x 3.57 lbs
    (14") Razer Blade - 13.6” x 9.3" x 0.70" x 4.47lbs
    (15.6") P35X - 15.15" x 10.63" x 0.82" x 4.76 lbs
    (15.6") GS60 - 16.47” x 11.29” x 0.85” x 4.36 lbs
    (17") GS70 - 16.48" x 11.30" x 0.86" x 5.86 lbs
    (17") Razer Blade Pro - 16.8" x 10.9" x 0.88" x 6.54lbs

The Gigabyte offerings are much more competitive if you're truly looking for a mobile machine.

That is some surprising comparisons. It didn't seem that big me in person. I guess that GS70 is just really small in comparison?

That screen file also has me worried too. And the fact it maxes out at 970M. That P35X with the 980M sounds great, but the GS60 keyboard feels much nicer to type on. And the trackpad feels generally quite good. Have not heard the same things about the P35W's input devices. Touchpad is a bit wonky and keyboard with flex (sound is another issue, but I'm willing to overlook that on the GS60).

I really just want to know if Gigabyte have addressed these issues. Even if a rep breaks whatever NDAs exist and says 'Yes, they've been fixed' I'd be so happy.

    EDIT: 15.35" x 10.47" x 0.78" are GS60 Ghost Pro dimensions

Your off on the gs60 dimensions. Although for some reason msi isnt publishing them gentechpc measures them out in a video.

The gs60 is a inch smaller width and depth over the gs70. Also slightly shorter as well.

The gs60 is smaller than my sager 15 but maybe my sager is bigger never really looked at that.

    MSI GS60 dimensions are 390 x 266 x 19.9mm

    Or 15.35" x 10.47" x 0.78" for you Americans.

Don't tell anyone that my names are the same there and here. Seems a 1080p version of the P35X will hit shelves in December according to an Aussie retailer's email received by a member there.

That's correct, but it's still big compared to other 15.6" laptops. I returned the GS60 partly because it was so big, it wouldn't fit in my bag which is designed for 15.6" laptops.

    14.13" x 9.73" x 0.71" - Macbook Pro 15 (note: 15.4" screen and 16:10 aspect ratio)
    14.8" x 9.8" x 0.9" - Samsung Book 8
    14.8" x 9.8" x 1.1" - Thinkpad W540
    14.6" x 10" x 0.7" - Dell XPS 15
    14.88" x 10.04" x 0.75" - Asus GX500 (note: vaporware thus far, specs from a single review sample)
    14.95" x 9.87" x 1.1" HP Envy 15
    15.02" x 10.08" x 0.9" - Acer V7-582PG
    15.16" x 10.63" x 0.83" - Gigabyte P35W
    15.23" x 10.37" x 0.9" - Lenovo Y50
    15.35" x 10.47" x 0.78" - MSI GS60

Considering that of these, only the Gigabyte and MSI models support 900M series cards. And at that, only those are known to support higher performance cards too, this comparison becomes a little moot. Though, it's nice to have these comparisons up.

Given the above, it's also surprising we find these higher performance cards being put into lower profile chassis than some lower performing cards.

Don't know about that GX500. Feels like these delays are going to make it come to market far too late to be viable for anyone except the eternally patient.

The P375SM-A is now on my radar (17" sli) as i cant be bothered waiting for the gigabyte atm.... the 3k model (p35x) from affordable i have heard you cant see the difference when you downscale it to 1080p that much <--- waiting to hear back from people about that

I sent them an email regarding the availability of the P35X. Their website states before the end of November, which seems incredibly out of line with the rest of the world. They could not confirm a date and will update once they receive the models. Would order from overseas, but it actually ends up costing MORE!

I've had a P157SM before and I just couldn't live with the weight and size. But if you're fine with those, they're very good value for money. Even though it's plastic it doesn't feel cheap which I really appreciated, but I suppose I'm shallow. It's thin or nothing.

The heat isn't too much of a worry for me. I'm not touching those parts which get hot. I had a Razer blade before too. That was great with sound. It got quite hot but it never got too loud. Heat isn't an issue. Passive cooling is necessary in a chassis this small, the question is at what cost to noise? This is why I'm waiting for a review. I'm sure Cakefish will happily oblige with a review when he gets his.

At the moment I'm torn between the Gs60 and the P35X. Both are good. The GS60 doesn't seem to pull air from underneath but the P35X seems to have much better battery life. I'm so torn.

I lodged a support ticket with Gigabyte to see when it would be released in Australia. Release in Australia in 'late December' according to Gigabyte Australia.

More than happy to! If all goes to plan I'll be getting mine on Saturday 1st November (two weeks tomorrow!). As long as dispatch/delivery aren't delayed and I'm not too busy with uni-related coursework I will try to get a full review of the laptop done that same weekend :)

Considering that it is only $2799 from AffordableLaptops in Australia is it really worth the extra $700 on top? Seems a bit much to me which is why I haven't just gone ahead and imported.
