    Hi Folks,

My trusty P34G is still going strong, but after several drops and knocks with a headphone cable attached, the headphone socket has become very intermittent.

I have already tried to repair the socket by gluing the sides of it where it had cracked previously - that fixed it for a year or so but now its causing problems again.

Specifically, the RHS headphone connection only works if I apply upward pressure on the jack. The LHS also has a dry joint but it still works without me needing to apply pressure to it.

My question is - Is it reasonably possible to desolder/replace the headphone socket off the PCB and if so, where could I obtain a replacement socket?

I am good at soldering, and am confident I could replace it provided the socket pins are surface mounted. If the socket is attached to one of the internal layers of the PCB then its game over I guess?

    Any advice appreciated?
