Thought I would make my own thread here so I can share my overall impressions, give feedback and post temp/benchmark results once I take delivery next week-ish (12/3?). So far my overall impression of HIDevolution is overwhelmingly positive and my sales representative Donald is awesome. I highly recommend others interested in ordering from them to go through him.

I'm most curious to see how the upgraded thermal compounds effect temps and benchmark results. I also do plan on doing a complete unboxing/overiew video and uploading it to youtube.

Awesome! Just note your benchmark results aren't really going to be affected much out of the box. Liquid Ultra will give you lower temps to have more OC headroom though, so it's up to you to take advantage of that.

Love the new keyboard on those things.

@Donald@HIDevolution is like a superhuman. Whenever I hear about him all I can think is he needs more sleep

Thanks! Will definitely post impressions when I take delivery. I paid sticker, plus the upgrades (paste,ram,warranty). My last laptop was a 2007 MacBook Pro that I dropped over $3k on. That still runs and I use to this day. Hopefully this is a similar investment

Hello I was the owner of Very first Aorus X3 plus, and I had terrible internet connection problem. Does X7 V6 has the same problem as well?

 

I don't have mine yet but from what I've heard there hasn't been any major issues. Sometimes the killer drivers are crappy but you can always just throw in an intel card.

Sorry for the long delay. Life has been busy lately at work and at home. Laptop is running great so far and have zero complaints! I have yet to edit the video so I'll try to do this coming week.

Here is a quick overview of my Aorus if anyone is interested.

 

6820 OC with 1070 should be in the 15500 range

 

edit: which exact intel wifi card did you buy, and any special tricks to replacing the killer one?
This is a really good video thank you especially the detail on the striping.
It's amazing for the thousands ( estimate! ) of posts about the striping/lines, how few people have done a video about it. As shown in your video, it seems to be a non-issue, even though it is there. Obviously in a game there it would be very difficult for the striping to be visible or seen. Anyway, I wanted to point out I went with the 15" model and am wishing I had a 17" screen, but still not sure I could have made practical use out of the 17 inch machine because the footprint is so huge ( I can't picture using it in an economy seat on an airline, basically )

 

If I'm not mistaken that test was done with g sync enabled. I'll have to try it again with it disabled. Should be higher. Regardless, haven't seen any throttling or performance issues.

Thanks! It's a AC-8260. As far as replacing it HID Evolution did the swap for me, but I've seen the card swapped out on similar machines and it looks simple enough (plug and play). Software wise its easy breezy intel drivers that just work. Killer drivers drive me nuts.

The screen has no complaints from me. Is it the most vivid and beautiful? No, but it gets bright, has reasonable color accuracy and gets the job done at high resolutions. I don't notice the striping at all, unless I'm inches from the screen which is never. This spends most of its time on a desk so that's why I opted for the 17 incher.
