I am planning on buying this laptop when the new RTX 2080 super releases. I haven't seen many threads for this laptop so I figured we can start one here. Hopefully this thread will become active.

For those who own this laptop would it be okay if you guys can share your thoughts on it? Perhaps also let us know on what kind of tweaks have been done to help improve the overall performance or the cooling aspect of things.

I am tossing up between the XA (2070) version of this, the MSI GE75 9SF and the Omen 63tx (which has an i9 and 2080).
My main reason for liking this over the other two:
Cooling headroom, Thunderbolt 3, Keyboard, Quality parts and build.

My question for anyone who knows - how noisy does it get under normal use?

I myself am hesitating to buy this laptop now, but it looks like not many people are going to be active on this thread and it is kind of worrying me. I started this thread because I literally can not find any forum where I can find out stuff about this laptop.

I had the first Gen and its Quality was almost unmatched, to this day I've never felt a laptop like it. It would get so loud though when you would overclock it, I'm talking 60+ Decibels and sounded like a jet engine that it just so happened to look like and be modeled after lol.

When I Undervolted the CPU/GPU and set a fan curve it was a lot better but from my understanding is they've upgraded the cooling system in it with this current revision.

Hopefully by April 16th I have it and I'll post a Review Video or Written Review.

Hello, sorry for my bad english.

I've a question. The 9th generation with the 4k HDR B173ZAN03.2 Panel has 667.3 cd/m2 . The new 10th generation has with the same panel only Maximal: 487 cd/m2

does anyone know the reason why there is a difference?

Most likely difference in suppliers that supply the screen panel. Maybe they changed it due to cost and availability considerations?

For people who have the Aorus 17G. Could they dump their vbios and post their GPU-Z info please. I'm trying to get a 90 watt vbios for the RTX 2070 Super Max-Q to flash onto my GS66.

Prospective shopper here. Would you say the i9 is worth the extra few hundred dollars if all I want to do is game and type? Whether this is for now or for the future?

Just picked up an Aorus 17G. Had an MSI GS66 for a few weeks but returned it. The issue with the chipping front plastic piece really got to me, as did the abysmal 240hz dimly lit screen. I also had an issue where the battery in the GS66 already had 4% wear. Prior to that I had a gigabyte Aero 15 with a GTX 1060. Had it for 2 years and not a single issue. Battery was still at full capacity when I sold it.

I love the Aorus 17G. I am in Canada and for whatever reason, my model came with a 144hz panel. To be honest, I don't care. I could not tell the difference between my 144hz external monitor I use and the 240hz that was on the MSI GS66.

Mine has the 2070 super, 32GB ram, 2x 512 GB SSD. It originally came with 16GB ram and a single 512GB SSD. The mechanical keyboard on it is bliss. I scooped it at Canada Computers for $2299 CDN.

Thanks for the update and quick review. The 15G (YB) is on my shortlist of my next purchase. Good specs and the mechanical keyboard should be blissful. EDIT: Actually the 15G is on my list, but everything should be similar except for the size of the screen.
