is this from the smart button as well as the desktop icon ?
did you make sure you downloaded & installed the windows 7 version ?
i do have a file called "GBOSDV2.exe" located in my "C:\Program Files\GIGABYTE\SmartManagerV3\OSD" folder but no file call "gbosvd2.exe"

Sorry I wrote that down wrong it is "GBOSDV2.exe" the one you just stated. It is from wherever I try to launch it, currently the start menu.. I wanted to uninstall smartmanager as a whole and re-install it but it doesn't show up in my list of uninstallable programs.. I didn't want to just delete everything associated with the name because I didn't know if that would be a effective method of removing the program.. also if someone could provide with the link to the win 7 smartmanager program once if I ever do get it removed that would be really helpful.

Thanks! Everything seems to be working perfect now. I just have have one question, for the updater program do I want to upgrade everything that's available in the green boxes on the right side under Official Driver Version or could those be older?

you don't need to upgrade anything if you are not sure it's better not to but if you are having problems with something it's the 1st thing i do
and as BlkKnight pointed out things like "NVIDIA Graphic" & "LAN driver" on my PC are newer then the Official Version and have green around them
if i was having problems with ether of them i would drop back to the older one gigabyte as tested with but only while problem solving

Is anyone having a issue with your wireless network card? Mine seems to drop my connection once a day at least, wondering if this is a common thing? Also all my other devices stay connected to the wifi fine and I am not far from my wireless router.

the one thing I do find poor about this laptop is wireless network
I have swapped my wireless network card for a dual band Intel model that I had in my older laptop for the 5G band as well
& the speed I get is no where near what I did in the old lap top
& the card that came with the P25W came to life in my old laptop with full 300Mbps speed
so I'm sure it the antenna configuration in the P25W
I was thinking that this antenna design may date back to single radio models
and both antennas don't work well in a duel channel configuration like N 300Mbps or 2x150Mbps
but i don't get drop out it's just not common for my wireless connection speed to get above 150Mbps

So the only solution for this laptop would be to swap out the network card?? I might be mistaken but I thought it was attached to the motherboard.

first off the wireless network adapter with Bluetooth is an mini PCI-E card you can replace it.
changing it didn't improve the speed for me
I didn't have the same drop out problems you are having
BlkKnight has pointed out "Power Saving" maybe something there look under the driver in device manager & also the power options in the control panel
disabling it's power saving modes may help
my card is not the same now so i can't look it's different
maybe BlkKnight can give some detail on his experience ?

I've had no wireless issues to speak other than the windows 8 driver bug (refuses to remember passwords on reboot).

Signal wise it's fairly decent and doesn't drop.

Only issue has been localised to a BT Home Hub 3 - where it did drop connections frequently. On different hardware it's fine.

I just know I had to install it for the sound to work correctly
so I'm thinking maybe the sound stops coming out of the speaker & or you have no volume control with maybe
I like the up & down volume buttons tho

if you want it back just download the latest & greatest from gigabytes web site or via "Smart Update"

I'm interested i the wireless antenna path & possibility of improving it seeing if the chrome around the screen could be limiting the wireless connection & it's nice to get the guide for replacing LCD panels etc

    Ah ok.

The chrome around the screen isn't metal. It's painted plastic.

I would also like to see a service manual (not the normal manual). I would like to reapply the thermal paste as I have noticed my average peak temps climbing steadily over the past few weeks. I believe both dust and poor paste application by th manufacturer to be the culprit.

Anyone know of a service manual? All I really need to know is which screws to remove in order to safely remove the entire heatsink/copper assembly. I am confident I can restore the warranty stickers without a problem :)

Now I don't know about this laptop in particular but aren't they usually numbered.
Like I said I don't know about the P25W but every laptop I have ever owned the heat sinks for both GPU and CPU were numbered 1 through 4.If so just take them out in that order and reverse the process when reinstalling.

Right I'm good with taking off the heatsink itself, but the copper heat pipe reaches under the plastic frame of the laptop and I can't fully remove the whole assembly without knowing how to disassemble more of the laptop. Does that make sense?

I suppose I could just experiment and figure it out - but I'd have to be really careful.

Has anyone managed to removed the back casing of the laptop to access the heat sinks? Especially the one on the left that is not accessible by the hatch?
