Shame the P25W isn't a 17inch version of it with a GTX 770m mmmmm i'd be all over that thing...
I saw a picture of the rear vents of the P25W and it really puts you off...

any idea when this guy will be available? As a side note, I haven't heard much about gigabyte before. Are they generally well-built machines?

It's already available in Australia ( GIGABYTE P25W gaming laptop notebook with GTX 770M 3GB graphics)

It's two grands AUD, almost the same as I spent on my new alienware a month ago.... the gigabyte even has a beefier gpu
too bad gigabyte has their products rolled out SO SLOW, they have lost themselve a customer
but still, better than the obtuse ASUS, no revision 14", 15" models...seriously?
To be honest I'm the fanboy type consumer....now I'm into Alienware and I won't buy anything other than alienwares in the future

Too expensive for what it is, 1300 pounds, that is about 1550 euro and 2050 dollars, that is a lot for an ugly yellow chassis that apparently has a tendency to overheat, the only thing that is really nice IMO is battery life, at that price the Clevo P151SM is by far a better choice and will save you about 400 euros ...

Custom A Surface Skin – [Back of LCD Panel Only] (Choose from our designs or your own) *Will add 5-13 business days (XPC Service) ( + 89 )

service from xoticPC, just order stealth camo wrap for 1 surface for 90$. that's definitely an option

So what's the difference supposed to be between this and the 35K? This has a faster video card?

    Gigabyte P25W-CF3 mini review.
I have this laptop since friday. I am posting a mini review since there not a whole lot of information out there on this.

    Performance test results.

The 3d mark look really good amoung best for gtx770m. (only acouple clevo system are faster and much noisier.)
    GTX770M
    3d marks 11 Performance: P5266
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4700MQ,GIGABYTE P25

    3d marks 11 Extreme: X1759
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4700MQ,GIGABYTE P25

Cooling system works well it stays pretty cool all the time. GPU can get to 80 but it throttle back to 75 degree c.
I tried measuring noise and it seem to be around 40-44db 12 inch in front of the screen on furmarks which is pretty extreme
when browsing the web i can't hear anything. the fan slope in between isn't too agressive.

GTX770m on furmarks it throttle down to 740/747MHZ but in normal gaming it says close to 862Mhz. on my lap it get down to 620Mhz

    windows index number
    cpu 7.9
    mem 8.1
    graphic 7.1
    graphic 7.1
    disk 8.4

Disk is really fast it boot in less than 5 seconds and reboot in less than 7.
    SSD 2x128 Gb raid 0 (LMT-128)
    atto
at 512K disk seq read a 995MBytes/sec and disk write at 630MBytes/sec
at 4k read of 477Mbytes/sec and write: 152MB/sec
this 4k performance is really good.

Display c088t_156wf1 i think it's from LG I am not sure.
i try to measured the srgb space coverage. I took the icc profile with xrite idisplay/iprofiler and save in v2 I send my profile on
    ICCView - Colormanagement, Helpdesk, OpenSource
C088T_156WF1_v2_nat.icm Total volume of gamut is 750823 cubic colorspace units
sRGB.icm Total volume of gamut is 899157 cubic colorspace units
I saw someone else measuring % of srgb coverage by dividing these two numbers: so that would make 83.50% srgb coverage.

it reads 380 Cd/m in xrite it's really bright it's usable outside.
there is a light matte coating that isn't bad at all. I wish there was atuo brightness mode like on my old 6 year old dell laptop.
the brightness setting is pretty coarse at in ten 10% increment.

color are not great off the bat after caibration average delta E get to 1.59.
viewing angle are pretty good for a TN.

    contrast is at 594:1

    xrite luminosity
    105/111/101
    103/109/ 95
    99 /102/ 92

xrite white balanced calibrated at 6500k, this is more even than my viewsonic vp2770
    6565/6569/6533
    6574/6562/6478
    6665/6608/6488

    readability in pixerpan is 6-7

Summary it's pretty good 15 inch laptop with a fast video card and good cooling.
they keyboard is fine with wasd key well marked. the arrow keys are not quite full size. the keypad is well centered and easy to use.
Battery life is pretty good but I haven't measured anything on it.

The build quality is average and the design isn't perfect the edge are skinny which it hard to grab on 3 side except the back.

I had some issues with the wifi card when I was around other laptop that might be something that need to be changes.
I think you can get a 802.11ac card for $30-35.

It weight 6.2 pounds. it goes for 1799$. at that price build quality could be a little bit better and they shouldn't put a cheap wifi card. And yes it's bright egg yellow. It's color is not this laptop strongest asset.

here is another review of this laptop for other aspect I didn't cover here.

The temps are great this laptop stays really cool even under load.

The screen isn't IPS, it's a matte TN I think (could be amva)
The default color are off but once you get it calibrated it's fine.
I have notice a green shadow below/above black object when I scroll up and down. It's really bright and It's usable outdoor.

I really got annoyed with the network connectivity the wifi card seems to drop my Asus 802.11ac router all the time and network port doesn't have led so even with a wire I couldn't tell if the link was up.
maybe I got a defective unit. IDK.

I got fed off and I sent it back.
I hope you have better luck with yours.

I think I may as well order this laptop its still pretty thin for a gaming laptop, heck I think it's just as big as my multimedia dell it has the same design too.
Link to dells design DELL+INSPIRON+1370+13.3-inch.jpg (image)

I'm kinda fed up with the P35K and don't want to take any risk this is also cheaper, and I need a laptop right now.
Plus this has a better GPU, will report Monday if I order or not.

    @Blk,
Just wanted to say sorry if I came off as rude. I just want you to know that it came out of hatred from the P35K. I was speaking my mind, I guess the negativity in that thread got to me.

Pretty damn good foreign review. Worth viewing as he disassembles the entire laptop.

No worries mate I'm in exactly the same place. Hopefully our shared conclusion will be a good one.

On the plus side the 770 kicks the 765s .

Be careful which you pick as one version does not support dual msata.

Did you notice that in the review that the cpu is upgradable? :)

Yeah I managed to get a hold at somebody at GenTech, they said the CF3 is basicly the CF1 with just more RAM / SSD. So its all good.

I'm waiting for XOTICPC to cancel my preorder, so I can go ahead and order this one. (Don't want to get charged for two laptops)

so it's just a preorder for you in the UK?

Also expect a quite detailed review from me, whenever I receive it.

Ahh ok well in that case my order should be shipping this Thursday, and with 5 day shipping I might be able to get it by next Wednesday .

I'll try to get back to you and tell you how the laptop is.
But only after a marathon session of battlefield 4 :).

Edit: unit ordered payment processing, hopefully it gets shipped tomorrow.

Does anyone have any questions I can answer about the laptop when I get it?

Please let us know is Gigabyte messed up the case as they did with the p35k. I'd personally spray paint the lid as I feel that skin wrap or plastic dip won't cut it quality-wise. But I still have a problem with the chrome bezel as that might be metallic (doubt it though) so it would be more difficult to paint I guess. I'm very much interested in battery life and noise levels as I plan to use it at the university (hence I can't tolerate the yellow lid).
Hope you'll get it as soon as possible.

My order just shipped gotta give excaliber some points for that.
Should get it Friday or Saturday, I'm praying for no dead pixels.

Edit: would you mask the entire laptop with painting tape and spray paint or take the lid off?

Given the fact that the chrome bezel goes all the way around the lid I'd guess it is plastic so it could be sanded and sprayed properly, but that implies completely disassembling the hinges and the lid. This should also give you much better control over the quality of the paint job.
Unfortunately this process would void the warranty so you'll have to use masking tape if you want to stay on the safe side.

    No, it hasn't.

From all the videos I've seen about the laptop I've seen the camera guy in the bezel reflection, that's why I said that.

Edit: Should be getting my laptop Monday.

Anybody got a clue what could be giving me this water mark that says "Windows 8.1 SecureBoot isn't configure correctly Build 9600" All I did was update my Bios firmware.

Also my turbo / stealth buttons arent working.

Isn't win 8 tied to the mobo? Try a bios reset to default. There are a few win 8 options in the bios. Make sure that they are turned on.

Happened to me too after installing windows 8.1. Should be an option in the BIOS to "Install Secure Boot Keys" or something similar that you need to select. These "keys" have to be uninstalled to install a different OS (8.1 in this case) and I guess it didn't automatically re-install after 8.1 update completed

I also seem to have lost my dGPU. Windows 8.1 drivers are buggy.
*Fixed it by downgrading my GPU drivers to 9.18.13.2683 (326.83)

Still don't know how to get rid of the watermark issue.
*And fixed by going into the bios and deleting the "keys" thanks hu1.

Blk, fyi disable fastboot if you want to have the chance to go into the BIOS.

Now to study for my mid terms.

Is the shiny bezel made out of plastic? I'd like to paint it black, but I'm concerned about the area around the hinges.
Could you please make a video while running some CPU & GPU intensive game so we can get a idea about how loud it really is?
I'm wandering if we could upgrade the display to an IPS panel. As there aren't many IPS panels using LVDS it would be nice to have an eDP interface. AIDA64 should give us an indication regarding the interface used hopefully.

I can't really comment on the bezel, it might be metal or a really heavy plastic. Although it wasn't icy cold this morning so it might not be metal.

On the box they had an area that identified the color of the unit, yellow check box and a black check box, so perhaps in the future they will have black unit to ship.

And sure ill make a video after my midterm, showing the fan noises.

I'll post a system info and AIDA64 tonight.

---- battery info ----- (meant to post this yesterday)
    Quick update,

I took my laptop to the library to study for my midterm, and I got some pretty decent battery life.

I got 4 hours 23 minutes, out of the laptop.
    Scenario
    - %20 Brightness (Lights up the display just enough to show deep colors)
    - Wifi on, downloading games at 10mb/s. (BF4+Steam)
    - External HDD transferring files to onboard HDD. (2 hours. Internal HHD got HOT, 50C)
-Light web browsing, (power points and some youtube)
    -10% - 30% CPU (Low 50C high 60C)

Overall I stressed the laptops well enough, I'm pretty confident it can reach the 6 hour mark, if you do nothing but word process. Youtube perhaps 5 if you don't multitask.

I will try under-volting my CPU soon, hopefully it can reduce my CPU temps.

Fecks sake Gigabyte are a bunch of numpties.

They sent CamTech the CF2 editions of the machine.

They were initially held for a week because they thought the RAM was missing.

Now it transpires that one SSD was missing too. . . . .

I'm accepting the machine "as is" and receiving a nother SSD at a later date.

Not really a problem as I didn't intend to RAID the machine anyway.

    Mine arrived yesterday.

    So far i've

Cloned the 128gb ssd onto a 256gb ssd & repartitioned the 256 so that the C drive is 200 odd gb

Installed Windows 8, and upgraded to 8.1

Having some issues with wifi access points - in that it forgets the password after a reboot. . . . Driver issue me thinks

First impressions is excellent. Very well put together, strong, fast.

Will be installing a second 256gb ssd today to put games on.

Not an advocate of RAIDing SSD's

Please anyone, need a quick answer. I had ordered this model and upon receiving it and doing some testing i had major issues with grafical corruption. I than looked on the GTX770m cpu and mem clocks and saw the cpu 705 MHz and mem 2005 MHz.
As far as i know the gtx 770 has 811 MHz on the core and 2005 on the mem. Can anyone confirm this to me. Please use either Nvidia Inspector or GPUZ. Thanks in Advance.

    @blk
    Its not that bad really.
I got used to Windows 8 after a week, its much more efficient than windows 7.

@msaw Playing Team Fortress and here is my info
841 MHz with default of 702 MHz Clock Speed
    1002 MHz on MEM speed

I hope you do realize that the GPU tries to be as efficient as possible, so if it doesn't need to run at 900 MHz Its not going to waste energy doing that.
