    Need a good Thunderbolt Dock 3 TB3 for my Aero 15 (3-monitor support 1080p)

    Title tells all.

I was planning on getting the TB16, but not sure if it will be compatible. I've seen reports that it isn't compatible with the nVidia 1070, so not sure if it will work with the 1060.

I would love to only have to plug in my power and the TB3 cable. This is an office environment and I'm running 3 24" 1080p monitors. Could care less about 4K monitors, not doing anything that requires uber nice graphics at this point.

    Thanks!

Upon further investigation, he believes his laptop actually only supports 1 monitor over TB3, sooo that is likely the issue and this post is completely irrelevant to you. My apologies haha.

    -----
I can't comment specifically on the Aero 15, but a coworker has an MSI Stealth with the 1060 and the TB16 dock works fine for everything except monitors - he can only get 1x 1080p monitor going, the second one won't turn on, so he plugs that one straight into his computer. It's tricky because there aren't any drivers for monitors for the TB16 and he is on the latest thunderbolt from MSI, so it's hard to say what needs to happen for him to get dual monitors going on that dock.

He is using the 240W version of the TB16 and it also doesn't charge his comp. I'm strongly considering the X5 v7 and it would be awesome to have a thunderbolt dock that worked well...

    Thanks for the discovery.

I'd be surprised that the 1060 itself is what's limited, it's gotta be driver support, but I'll keep me eyes open. I'll just have to stay with my usb3 dock and plug 2 monitors into the laptop for now I suppose.

It's a good dock - I'd recommend buying it from someplace like Amazon to test it out, that way it's easy to return if it doesn't perform well.

Yeah, my USB3 dock runs well enough since it doesn't have to push monitors. I'd rather spare the expense until I can verify that it will push the monitors I need.

They are a bit cheaper than they were, maybe I'll take the flier and try it out anyway and see if I can get the monitors working... =]

Keep the updates/info coming. There's quite a dearth of info out there unless you're running an XPS 15 with the TB16, then there's just a lot of heartache.

Anyone have any suggestions? I would like to run 2 1080p monitors over my new Aero 15 over one Thunderbolt 3 connection. I know I could do HDMI/DisplayPort but I did buy this laptop for it's Thunderbolt 3

FWIW, Still rocking my USB3 dock with 3 monitors, two connected to the laptop (one HDMI & one MiniDP)., third via the dock which is a virtual adapter.

Yeah, you would have to buy it and test it out. I got one of the older Dell 3.0 docks, and it would work pretty well on all of my PC's, except the one laptop I bought it for. Had to deal with Dell support many times. In the end, they refused to replace it with a working unit and would not refund me.

Hello.. I'm a new Aero15 User and today I tried the Notebook with my DELL TB16 Docking Station.. It works great except for the normal sized DisplayPort. HDMI and MiniDisplayPort are connected to 2x DELL U2415:

As you could see, no Monitor is connected to the Notebook and so only the internal CPU Graphic is activated.

The Power Button and Power over Thunderbolt3 are not working, but I expected that.

I have the same TB16 dock and an Aero 15x .. trying to run two 4k monitors through the dock .. I can get the same setup as yours with a mDP and an HDMI but the HDMI is 30hz.

If I try a normal DP and mDP only one monitor will display .. any idea? Thanks

An eGPU would also be a (more expensive) solution.

HP ZBook Dock with Thunderbolt 3 works great too!
