I saw this on the Aorus's forum. I was in the middle of writing a guide up to get the battery and the backlight to work but this guy has already solved it.

Big Kudos to this guy. I have a retina macbook pro 15 the lackluster updates made me compelled to buy a new one and purchased an Aorus instead.

I have an Aorus X7 Pro Sync. I followed this guide and got everything working. You do need to replace the WIFI/BT card with a Broadcom BCM94352HMB to get wifi/bt to work.

    WORKS
+ Both GPUs work (Open CL & Cuda)
    + Backlight Dimming Controls
    + Sleep
+ Macro Keys (needs to be mapped in windows but works in OSX)
    + CPU Power Management (Speedstep)
    + Webcam
    + Audio (All speakers)
    + Backlight KB

    NOT WORKING
    + SD Card reader

    WEIRD Glitches
+ X7 Pro only, I think it could the DSDT but it detects 1x 870M and 1x 970M. Both cards do still get utilized fully. Waiting for the author's response.

Wonder if it'd work on the X5 as well then, would be nice :D

Is GPU acceleration fully working? Quartz extreme for Pro Apps such as FCP

I may have to take a peek and see how one of these as a hackintosh will work in place of my existing one for FCP-X since the rMBP is too bloody slow.

Well I will pass on my thanks here Mintouch. I am going to borrow an X7 next week and give it a go to see how it compares for my FCP-7 & FCP-X work.

Then I recommend that benchmark. I used the bench with FCPX 10.2.1 and got 48 secs. http://blog.alex4d.com/2013/10/30/brucex-a-new-fcpx-benchmark/

What's the battery life like in OS X? Does it handle an idling SLI setup better than Windows?

3 to 4 hrs when normal uses with maximum brightness. When running a pro app, the laptop can run it just 2 hrs.

some will work and some will not work but It's clear that your 970M will not work because yours is optimus laptop.

I have a pro-Sync, every time I try and load the installer, it reboots, is there anything I need to do to get the installer to boot?

It's all right, I solved the problem. Simply use nv_disable=1. Thank you so much!

It's a little disappointed that the battery lasts basically the same time for OSX 10.10.5 and WIN8.1, no improvement.

That's actually quite lucky - I've had many Hackintoshes that showed a distinct decrease in battery life, as opposed to running Windows.
