So, I think I received a Gigabyte P34G V2 from XoticPC with a bad Webcam. I just attempted to use skype, and it doesn't detect the webcam. It also doesn't detect it in the device manager on Windows 8.1. I can't seem to find any information anywhere on what chipset the webcam runs, and I don't see any drivers listed for the P34G V2 webcam.

I called XoticPC, but I keep getting a voicemail box. I also e-mailed [email protected] as well. The laptop goes through a "QA" and "Testing" stage for an entire week with XoticPC. It's really unacceptable for them to be shipping out bad hardware when they claim they've been QA testing it.

I have the same "problem". Also looking for an answer. I had the impression it was software though. Don't know why.

Is there a hotkey (fn button combo) that enables or disables the webcam? The webcam might just be disabled.

I was going to say to check in the BIOS. I have seen it disabled there as well.

I had to login and update this thread (I know, a year later, but I totally forgot about it). The FN-F12 hotkey fixed my webcam issue. Thanks so much!

Happens all the time with systems that have a hot key toggle. Glad it's working!
