    Hello all,

I have an Aorus X7 V2 bought at lau nch.

How do I get access to the CPU/GPU and what thermal paste is recommended to use?

Is it as simple as opening the bottom cover? Also which thermal paste should I use?

    Finally, will this void warranty?

    Cheers

A lot of people have had good results with ICD7

Remove the back panel with a torx T6 driver. 2 screws will have anti-tamper stickers on top of them (which you will have to obviously break to get access to the screw heads). Once all the screws have been removed, carefully pry off the panel from one edge and the entire thing will come off.

The heatsinks themselves are clamped down with spring-loaded cross-head screws that can be removed with a standard philips screwdriver. Be careful about the numerous thermal pads covering the VRAM chips. If you're feeling adventurous, you can also replace them with Fujipoly Extreme 11W/mK variants (1.0mm and 1.5mm)

With regard to warranty, this should help:

That only covers you for breaking the warranty void seals over the screws heads to get the back panel off and access the RAM slots. RMA staff probably will not be so understanding about repasting the CPU and GPU if you encounter issues after the repaste.
