You mean in addition to or instead of extended warranty?

I never get extended/third party warranties on tech, I think it's a waste of money, unless you know you're prone to breaking your electronics. Remember that all those insurance companies make money, which means, on average, you're going to pay them more than what you get back out of it. The way I see it, you should only get warranties/insurance on things you can't afford to lose nor replace, which, for me, translates to car, home, and life

In that case no, haven't felt the need for it.

I did in the past, but not anymore. It is very rare that I will break my screen.

Some mfgs have a limited accidental coverage built into the warranty anyway (usually you have to register it).

In Europe most home insurance cover laptops with a new for old policy. I have my X5V6 insured with my home insurance and that also covers it out in my campervan/rv whilst rock climbing in the sticks.

Squaretrade accidental. Have had it on the last 3 laptops and every laptop has ended up dying before the warranty does which means full refund each time.

I always buy the 2 -3 yr warranty from HIDevolution when I buy from them and I recently bought the 3 yr SquareTrade laptop repair warranty for my X7 DT v7 from NewEgg.

The reason why i like to buy warranty from HID is because its way easier to send them the laptop than to the OEM

Didn't realize it covered that much. I might do that for big purchases.

Full refund is pretty nice to have. That's something that I could never expect in my country :p

Here there are places where they're so accommodating you can walk into some places with no receipt and return old items, it's kind of ridiculous.
