I have a U2442V that does not power up when I press power button... No LEDs are on.

For some reason before its death I had to keep doing static discharges to make it work...
A while after its death I noticed the battery bulge so I disconnected it.

I want to know if I connect the AC should the laptop still power without battery... I know with most laptops this works but not sure about this one.

I have tester AC adapter and chart port... Both are fine... So I think it's most likley the motherboard or maybe battery?

Should I buy new battery(expensive)?... Should I try oven reflow? Should I find motherboard repair?

    (Out of warranty)
