Take a look at the photos of the beyboard and palm rest of my X3 V3. I just cleaned it extensively and did not touch it before I took this picture. As you can see, regular use has 'eaten away' parts of the keyboard and palm rest. The KB/palm rest area now look years old rather than a few weeks old. The staining is permanent. I haven't spilled anything on the kb, nor do I sweat while using it (because it does run cool) yet normal skin oils appear to literally stain and 'eat' away at the keyboard and palm rest surface. My girlfriend's machine looks similar as well. Does anyone else have this issue?
I'll be contacting Aorus regarding this, I'll keep everyone updated, but I'm not expecting much. I kick myself yet again for buying a brand other than Dell...
Here are the photos. It's like the palm rest 'absorbs' skin oils (and is permanently etched) and it appears the keys have a matte coating that start to wear off after a few days. And its' not just me as my gf is meticulously clean:

Looks pretty natural to me, I have it on my spacebar on my asus and I have a smoothed out area on my logitech g15 keyboard from where I rest my hand. I'd probably see it on more parts of the asus if it wasn't a weird coffee colour.

How old are your devices? My last machine (dell) was over 4 years old before just they spacebar alone showed this kind of wear (and the palm rests *never* discolored). Keep in mind this machine is THREE WEEKS OLD and not only are the keys smoothing out, but the palm rest area is discoloring! Do other brands' build quality just suck so much that everyone thinks this is normal??

Looks like normal oily skin on black service discoloration to me. Maybe shouldn't be as noticeable so fast but looks normal. Clean it up with a micro cloth and some all purpose service cleaner? I don't have this on my Gigabyte P34G V2 but then again the machine is blue and grey so you can't see the oils on the grey side where my palms rest. However on the blue side you can definitely see the oils from my hand when I grab, hold, and pull up on the display to open her up. Looks normal to me, tbh. Are you saying regular cleaning doesn't get rid of discoloration?

Maybe you didn't read the OP...this photo was taken AFTER extensive cleaning. I hadn't touched the machine. The surfaces are permanently eteched/discolored/stained after 3 weeks of normal use.
Update: No response from Aorus yet...seems like no one gets decent support from them -

Bah.. my Aorus x3 plus v3 is showing this already. I received my laptop on March 6th and today is March 9th. My Spacebar is already showing slight discoloration. I saw your post before purchasing this laptop, but still went ahead with the purchase. I didn't think it would be this bad o_o

how is the use on this laptop now guys? nearly considering it but spending £1700 for a easily faded machine does not seem like it will be worth anywhere near its purchase value.

Update: I finally got a toll free # from Aorus support for the service center. Just in time, too, because now the keyboard backlight flickers randomly when typing and emits short bursts of a weird 'hum' noise when doing so. I just bought this thing for ~$2k, and I'm already looking at what I'm going to have to buy for the inevitable ship to the service center. If they wouldn't have cut so many corners and have such crappy support, this would have been an awesome machine. Too bad. Never again, Aorus/Gigabyte...
Sorry to hear that this issue is occurring with everyone, not just me...
Has anyone else's X3 KB/palm rest area been ruined by normal use?
