I just received my p34w (base 1080p model) today. I was disappointed to see that the screen has a distracting amount of backlight bleed. Has anyone else experienced this issue with the model and had luck exchanging it for a unit with better quality control? I know that it's a common problem for IPS screens, but this is more severe than I'd consider acceptable in a new, expensive laptop.

Thanks - it changes dramatically with light pressure around the bezel and manipulating the top cover

If it is due to the laptop screen panel itself, the backlight bleed should not change when you warp te screen slightly. If it does change it is because poor mounting and pressure on the LCD panel. A lot of manufacturers out there have really shoddy mounting systems, including GIgabyte.

I ended up exchanging it and the screen on the replacement looks great. There's a tiny bit of bleed when the screen is completely black with high brightness, but nothing I notice under normal use and MUCH better than the first one. Now I have a completely different problem - the internet is excruciatingly slow. It's this computer and not my network - I speed tested side by side with my old laptop and was getting 0.277 Mbps on the gigabyte while the old laptop was getting 24.7 Mpps. Loading google takes ~30 seconds. I tried updating the driver for the wireless card to no effect. Does anyone have ideas on why this may be occurring and what to do about it?
