Huh, cooling is decent. Now there's something I didn't expect to ever see from the P series

I thought this model was only available in 1080p and QHD panel variants.. Where is the 4k model for sale?

Amazon lists the QHD panel as IPS, but it appears that's possibly incorrect (per the youtube video). As long as it's one of the newer TNs that don't suffer from that gray striping issue that the first batch of QHD 3ks from AUO suffered from last year, that's fine.

edit - G-sync not included, my mistake :(

Goodness it doesn't! How did I manage to mix that up.... Thank you for pointing that out, I was moments away from purchasing. Scratch that now I suppose, no point in buying my first gaming PC in years and skipping out on G-Sync (after everything I've heard about it).

Guess the only G-Sync 17.3" options are the 8-10 lb back-breakers then...

No, you can get the Aorus X7 v7. The Aorus is available for pre-order. Personally, I'm waiting on a 4K version of it that is available for sale in the USA. That or the 4K version of the Clevo PA70HS-G if it is available with G-Sync and comes out sometime hopefully this century will be my next laptop.

That was in fact precisely my backup plan. Was wondering why it was $600 more than this, now it makes sense. Also thought it was 8 lbs, but glad to see it's "only" 7. :)

Is the only difference between this and the P57x V6, the CPU upgraded to a 7700hq?

Looks like it has better thermals and is quieter.

Amazon has the 1080p IPS version right now for $1499.

You guys think it's a good buy?
