Does the Gigabyte P55Wv5-SL3 have a good trackpad where all the special Windows 10 trackpad gestures work?

Unfortunately, Gigabyte does not offer responsive trackpad to their laptop, even compare to other windows trackpad. If you expect P55W v5's trackpad to be like Macbook pro, Razer Blade, or even most recent Clevo laptop, you would be little bit disappointed to your purchase.

I just want it to be smooth and sensitive enough. And to use the Win 10 trackpad gestures.

That is what he says, they arent really good and trackpads that support all Win 10 trackpad gestures are rare. Only the Microsoft trackpads do this reliably (used in Surface book, XPS13, XPS15, a few HP recent business laptops).

Hi rinneh.. There are 2 laptops i'm interested in buying. They both have Nvidia 970m. But one has 4th generation i7 ($1100) and the other has 6th generation i7. Is there a big difference between the two in gaming performane?

If you want a decent trackpad, I would recommend SAGER NP8657 / Clevo P650. They have great performance, decent build quality, as well as trackpad.

The bigest difference is in energy efficiency and heat produced. The Skylake version is better in both regard. Performance is largely the same except the intel iGPU runs a bit quicker.

The problem with the Sager NP8657 is a weak screen that is bendable. That worries me.

Do you recommend other Clevos or Sagers that's priced no more than $1300 with Nvidia 970 but without build quality issues?

Also, are both these models the same exact laptop?

The Clevo's featur ebetter build quality than any GIgabyte out there in my opinion. But you want quite a lot for that money. There arent many options for 1300dollar.

Well.... as we all know, we can't have it all. If you want laptop with GTX970m, decent trackpad, with the price lower than $1300, you have to make some sacrifices. Clevo laptop's screen does flex, but if you treat your laptop right, it won't be an issue. Also, SAGER NP8657 is the cheapest gaming laptop with 970m. Other competitors starts at $1400 usd minimum.
