I'm consdering purchasing a P35k from XoticPC here: XOTIC PC | GIGABYTE P35K-CF1

There are two options available for the display "IPS Backlit Matte Type" or "Matte Type Super Clear" super Clear Ultra Bright. Can anyone help to clarify the difference between these?

    - 15.6” FHD 16:9 IPS Backlit (1920x1080) Anti-Glare Matte Type Screen

    - 15.6" FHD 16:9 "Matte Type" Super Clear Ultra Bright LED Anti-Glare Screen w/ 95% NTSC Color Gamut (1920x1080) (SKU - X1R306)

Personally, I'm not a fan of matte displays, and prefer glossy displays in all their glaring glory, so I'm not quite sure which of these would be a better choice.

Anyone happen to have pics on hand of depicting one of these two display options? Also, it seems the P35k is not available anywhere with glossy display, correct?

IPS has better viewing angels, here just watch this video and see it for yourself.

If you aren't a fan of matte displays you could always attempt to change the screen out yourself, however I'm not sure if there is a screen that will fit as of right now.

Also since the majority of the people who post online only come here to complain your going to have a hard time getting any info at the moment. I honestly don't know why they cant be a little bit more constructive and write how good it plays games etc...

Thanks very much for posting this video!

The P35k uses the same display options as the Lenovo thinkpad?

I can't exactly remember where I saw it but I do know there are people out there who de-matte LCD screens for a fee. Try to google around; maybe there is someone near you who can do it for you.

They are both "Matte Type" displays, but for someone who wants the brightest, most vivid colorful image and prefers glossy, is it worth it to spend the extra $170 for the ""Matte Type Super Clear Ultra Bright LED Anti-Glare Screen w/ 95% NTSC Color Gamut(SKU - X1R306)" instead of the cheaper display which is the default "IPS Backlit Anti-Glare Matte Type Screen"?

I wouldn't call it cheaper display, it's cheap because it's already installed. You pay a premium for IPS on laptops, atleast usually.

If you are going to upgrade screens I recommend asking if they can't manage to fit a glossy screen for you...

I you will be happy with any screen, but you will be amazed by how nice the screen is if you get it calibrated. It makes a whole world of difference..
