Hi everyone, I have received my Gigabyte P34W-V5 laptop last week and really happy with the performance and quality of it. However there is a little frustration that the laptop don't follow exactly the sleep setting in the power plan and it keeps stay awake most of the time. I recall the laptop only successfully goto sleep automatically (follow the sleep timer setting in power option) twice during my last week of usage.
The system is still in pretty initial status, doubt if there are some flaw in BIOS or firmware....
Do any Gigabyte owner got similar experience?
Thanks!

I think I find the reason after a full day of testing - Microsoft OneDrive prevent my system from sleep.....

That is interesting info. Did you confirm that was the fix for your problem? If so we'll pass this along to R&D they would be interested in info like this.
Thanks!

Hi Gigabyte.
It is sad that I can't find a solution to fix the OneDrive issue. What I could conclude is that, if the OneDrive is enabled in (Task Manager> StartUp), the system will not goto sleep. If it is disabled, sleep function works properly.
My system is a V5, QHD display, 16GB RAM, NVMe MZVPV128, WD 1TB Blue drive.
It will be great if Gigabyte could test it and provide some solution.
Many thanks! -

Some more info about the "sleep" issue. The MS OneDrive only affect "auto-sleep" function that setup in powerplan. It won't affect the sleep function from windows' Start button or keyboard FN+F2 shortcut. -
I would have some more comment for this laptop and hopefully Gigabyte could make improvement:
1. Touchpad - The touchpad tracking is great, but taping and muti-finger scroll got problem. The single tap is not working sometime. I have been play around with the sensitive setting inside the ELAN tools but it doesn't really help. The situation is, sometime there are no action if tapping the touchpad. I could see the tapping is successful in the ELAN system tray icon (shows blue dots), however there are no tapping action taken. And also, the multi-finger scroll got some problem. The scroll keep slightly shaking/vibration when you hold your two-finger on the pad. The only way to get rid of the shake is that you touch your finger tips "harder" to increase the touching sensation area.... that's really trouble!
2. Spacebar - I think it is because of the mechanism inside the spacebar, tapping the bottom edge of the spacebar mostly fail to trigger the action. You have to tap it very hard at the bottom edge, or, change move your thumb and tap the center or top edge of the space bar.... it is frustrating! -
I'm just wondering when will we be able to purchase this laptop from Canada (on some websites like NCIX or MemoryExpress)?
Right now the only way to buy it is from US website which I may have to pay some crazy custom clearance fee. -
