Gigabyte is a fairly new brand in terms of the notebook market can any previous owners talk about build quality in a serious way, flex? Unbearable keyboards, flimsy build, floppy screens sub par fans? Talk about it all here
Remember to put the name of the model you're talking about, pictures and videos are appreciated.

Gigabyet has been building solid motherboards for years. That build quality seems to have been continued in their notebooks. I own a P25w and find it to be very solidly built for the price. No complaints here.
The keyboard is solid, no flex. The screen will flex if you apply too much pressure to it but that's hardly surprising. The entire body of the laptop will flex slightly if you grab it roughly in your hands and twist hard. So just... don't do that. In normal use it is wonderfully built and has no problems. From what I understand, the other Gigabyte laptops are built even better.
I've used nearly every brand of notebook and find the Gigabyte quality perfectly satisfactory. Maybe even more than satisfactory.Frugoo likes this. -
Nearly all the laptops you see on the market aren't built by the company whose name they bear. The name brand contracts with an ODM (original design manufacturer) who does the actual design and manufacturing. e.g. Apple's laptops are made by Quanta. Most of HP's laptops are also made by Quanta. Asus used to be an ODM but got complaints when they started selling their own laptop line, so they spun off their design and manufacturing divisions into Pegatron. AFAIK they still use Pegatron to make most if not all of their laptops.

The name brand just slaps it into a box and ships it to you. They're essentially middlemen, though they do exhibit some control of the the design parameters and quality control. About the only thing the name brand tells you is how good the aftermarket service will be.
That said, I'm not sure if Gigabyte uses an ODM or makes their own laptop. Like Asus, Gigabyte makes a lot of their own components so it's possible they're trying to break into the ODM market by making their own laptops. The entire industry is very hush hush about this practice and it's virtually impossible to figure out who actually manufactures a particular model (the only reason we know Quanta makes the Macbooks is because Quanta makes all the Macbooks). But given the numbers, there's a very high probability the Gigabyte laptops are being made by an experienced ODM.Frugoo likes this. -

In terms of customer support, I might have questions because Gigabyte seems to provide quality products at a decent price, which means you have to cut the budget somewhere else. In terms of the quality of the hardware, Gigabyte has been around. Now build quality, it isn't a workstation or a Macbook (which I think has one of the best build quality), but it's not terrible for what you get for the price you pay.
