Just purchased my Aero 15X i7-8750H gtx 1070 max-q model with 1080 144hz IPS panel. Had the following tweaks done: Repasting thermal paste with Kryonaut on CPU, GPU and GPU VRAMS, fresh install of Windows 10 + installing drivers with Gigabyte Smart Update. Now for the good and bad:

    Good:

-Battery Life: Easily 5-6 hours doing web surfing, editing slides, MS excel and occasional YouTube vids.
-Speed: Everything runs blazing fast, smooth and extremely quiet especially after I've done the repaste. It just feels so good to use!
    - Display: The 144hz IPS panel does indeed live up to its reputation. Colors were accurate and beautiful and games just feel so immersive with it.

    Bad:

-Webcam placement: Who puts the freakin webcam below. seriously.
-Speakers: Kinda sure i installed the Dolby Atmos supported drivers but the speakers somehow feel underwhelming and umm scrappy?

Overall: A beautiful and slick looking machine capable of dishing out some serious buttery smooth performance at the expense of a bad webcam and meh speakers. Personally, I love it. 8/10.

I bought the same machine with uhd panel a month ago. I am really happy with it, except the temps while playing The Witcher 3. Do you think the repasting was worth it? Did you compare the temps under load before and after repasting?

Just to jump in, my temps didn't change much after repasting, what really helped is undervolting....no more jumps from the fan :D and running max 40 while doing browsing / office work on lap (bad air flow)
