My Gigabyte 15X (15Xv8-DE425PB) UHD Review:

After looking days and comparing laptops from MSI, Razer and Gigabyte, reading many reviews and benchmarks, I finally decided to get the Gigabyte.
    When I got the laptop, I instantly Installed a 2nd m.2 PCI (970 Evo SSD) and 16GB of RAM (Crucial CT16G4SFD8266 16GB DDR4 SO-DIMM 2666 C19).
Flashed the BIOS and everything worked out perfectly…Until
What people said about reinstalling the OS is very true. You have to di it, and I guess since Windows 10 Update 1809, Drivers aren’t as easy to find that actually work! (Welcome DCH)…
    https://forums.geforce.com/default/...ay-driver-feedback-thread-released-11-13-18-/

After Installing and following guides for the drivers (Touch Pad!) / Don’t forget to save your color profiles … And fighting with a few bugs. I can finally say that this laptop is a beast ^_^.

The screen just makes you want to cry with tears of happiness, yes, its only 60hz but the Resolution and Colors are so amazing :D. And best of all, it’s a Matt display and not glossy .

The Keyboard took me around 1 hour to get used to. The RGB functions are just amazing with the Gigabyte tool.

The Case seems very sturdy, love the aluminum and how it feels. OK, Honestly the Outside design could have been a bit “sleeker”. But who cares…with this power house I am totally happy.

Installed a game and wow… Just wow, the 1070 MAX-Q is O_O…. Just great :D. That with this screen and I couldn’t be happier!

    Some negative things:

Fan noise…. Yeah its there, might have to redo thermals after my vacation.
Gigabyte Smart Manager, Brings a Runtime Error on every boot :\...Easy fix, just annoying.
I don't believe the battery life....

Thanks for reading, if any questions are there just ask!

Did a fresh install, but now my monitor seems darker than before. The colors seem OK, it's just dark. Brightness level is turned up, too. Any ideas?

Try to disable adaptive brightness in advanced power setting. Control panel-power settings- advanced power settings-scroll down to display and disable adaptive brightness(default enabled)
