i think that an aero 14 with a thunderbolt3 port could be a killer for dell xps 9560. do you think gigabyte could insert tb3?

Would have to be in a subsequent generation, but that would be a significant improvement to an already great model.

I've been waiting for this feature on the Aero. This plus a 4K screen option would make it perfect. Though it would still be a pretty fantastic edit machine if they just added TB3.

TB3 is not a major requirement of mine since I suspect by the time a GTX1060 is no longer capable for my particular gaming needs, that a new laptop will be in the pipeline before an external GPU dock.

With that said, I agree that the Aero having a TB3 port makes it, at least perceptually, more competitive.

A 4K screen might be a little overkill on something with such a small screen and the lower GPU, unless you're not worried about fps and are using it for photography or something like that.

My usage case is for photo, video, and 3D animation (Cinema 4D) so lower fps (gaming isn't my bread and butter) would not be an issue.

I'm on a Dell Precision 5510 at the moment with a 4K screen. This handles photo and lower end 4K editing reasonably well, but it chokes once you start throwing Red Camera footage at it. I would have been pretty well covered if the latest Dell 9560 had used a 1060 GPU over the 1050.

Like I said, if they update the Aero to TB3, I'd buy this in a second. I don't think the power and portability of the Aero are matched at the moment. I could always plug it into a 4k monitor at work or home for editing.

True. TB3 will be the thing that makes it a truly great machine.
