Does the gpu really effect battery life when on Wifi\Watching videos if the laptops are identical, i.e. Gigabyte P34W v3 and P34K v3? The only differences are the 970m and 965m.

I have the money to spend on either. I'm just wondering if I will receive any more battery life out of the P34K v3 with the 965m?

I would say the GPU should make very little if any difference for web and video as you will be using the CPU graphics not the GPU which should be disabled. The key is making sure that no programmes are set to use the GPU, I had the Steam app running on the GPU even though it does very little and it was killing my battery life by about 1/2.

Thats what I thought! I was reading more into Nvidia Optimus and with it configured correctly, I could see much better battery life. I appreciate the response mark.
