Got Aorus X7XV6 a couple of years ago. Love the performance and the aesthetics of this laptop but will never buy Gigabyte again.
Seriously terrible way to do business in this day and age.
- Keyboard had issues straight out of the box but I fixed it myself.
- A little over a year in, the plastic above the cover hinge just broke from opening and closing it. Never ever happened to a laptop I owned.
- Paid to ship it for repairs and it was repaired with heavy lightbleed on that side of the screen.
- 3 months later the plastic breaks again and now laptop is out of warranty.
- Gigabyte says send it in, $90 to evaluate and then we will quote you
- Do you guarantee repairs? No.

Welcome to the Era of laptops that all brands live within.
Much like psu's you have to ignore the branding and even the model name / number to see what's going on underneath.
I try to know every aspect of everything in what ever I'm getting until the only question that can't be answered is how long will it last?hmscott likes this. -
I bought an Aero 17 in Sept. About to sell it and buy a used XPS 15 like I had before. Hardware is fine, but so many software/firmware issues... am sick of fighting with it.

I agree, they are terrible indeed. The keyboard of my machine has broken down and I tried to have it repaired. Since I am not
based in the US, and there is also no service centers here in my country, I have tried to contact the nearest center near my country.
Out of 6 that I have contacted, only 2 (taiwan and hongkong) has responded and both refused to received my unit via shipping. Fortunately, GENTECHPC has agreed to receive my unit via shipping provided that I will shoulder the shipping cost. Now I'm just waiting for its return from repair. My point is, I could have saved a lot of money in shipment if those 2 service centers just allowed me to do ship my unit to them instead of shipping it back to the US which is way more far.
GIGABYTE is a terrible company
